Today we’d like to introduce you to Britania “Tanny” Williams.
Hi Britania “Tanny”, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m a natural hairstylist by profession for over 20 years. I noticed that most people in the beauty industry don’t transition out into other fields or streams of income because though we are self-employed, we work hands-on for our clients. We have to be disciplined in saving, in scheduling time for breaks and snacks, saving mental capacity for ourselves throughout the day, etc. Whereas a job you have days for leisure. So one can see how it’s easy to get on the hamster wheel of routine work life and not venture into something foreign and unfamiliar. Long story short I saved some money over a few years and created Sho’ Stoppa Party Bus a transportation company to service clients to their detailed itineraries for a time frame insuring safety and fun on their ride. This business allowed me to create jobs in my community:: professional drivers with customer satisfaction as the main priority, a professional mobile vehicle detailer that comes to the party bus for cleaning services along with various small jobs I use to help the business run smooth without being so much hands on. Sho’ Stoppa Party Bus is another stream of income that keeps me creative in my ideas, makes money and not be present, open up job opportunities, gives an overall fun and filled experience for the clients with visual and listening capabilities that they control solely at the back of the party bus. I wouldn’t trade those trying times to sit in moments like today. It’s Worth it because You are Worth it, just start!!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nooo indeed, challenges occurred due to not knowing the party bus business nor having a blueprint on the how-to behind the scenes side on it all. In many transportation companies drivers are a hard commodity to keep. People will say they want to work to help with extra income but in reality, it’s on their watch. I’ve had plenty of drivers come and go. In the party bus business, it’s a bit seasonal, mainly on weekends and peak hours of midday to the wee-hours of the am. When I receive inquires about a date I ask the driver’s if they are available to move forward with the reservation process. In the beginning drivers would work a few weekends and will gradually not be as open to working so this being my business, I the owner, have drove to get the job done. ((Side note:: whatever your business is, you should always be able to perform any job duties if necessary)) For over 4+ years now I’m beyond grateful for Ms. Lyn and Mr. Greg for their hard work and dedication to the Sho’ Stoppa Party Bus brand. They have kept us on the 5-star rating on Facebook and Google sites. Our newest member of the team is Mr. Small with his bright and contagious personality and easygoing spirit. The 3 Amigos are super Professional, Courteous, Prompt and time punctual and I’m Blessed for their presence in seeing the vision through. I’m thankful that they help me make changes with their input from observations from the trips. We currently have 1 Party bus and will be adding several more to the Fleet to service a broader range of areas and clients.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Sho’ Stoppa Party Bus?
Sho’ Stoppa Party Bus is a chauffeur transportation company that allows clients to request our services via email with their custom itinerary with the time frame and addresses of their desired locations. Sho’ Stoppa name was originated from feeling like your presence should be made and memorable when entering a room. We coined it “The Sho’ Stoppa Experience.” We cater to our clients in a detailed and organized manner from reserving the party bus until the last party-goer is off the bus. Sho’ Stoppa Party Bus creates a setting for our clients to share laughter and sing-alongs with their loved ones to and from their event. Most of our clients are repeat clients or referrals from previous events. Word of mouth is the Best advertisement!! Our motto is, ” Get on the Bus with US, to be the STAR you Are!!”
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Lol, funny story when I was young in elementary school my granny used to program me to say when people asked, ” What I wanted to be when I grew up?”…I would reply a Pediatrician with excitement in my voice. Got to middle school and we had to write an essay on what we wanted to be when we grew up and rightfully so I said a Pediatrician lol. Long and behold the research I collected was that a Pediatrician was a children’s doctor….oh no, at that time I didn’t like little kids because I’m the oldest child, I surely didn’t like medical stuff because I can barely take aspirin and lastly being in school additional years was a no go-I finished High School 2 months early at a Charter School because we could test out if we could pass final exams. Anywho I reference back to that moment because I began to know more about myself: my none negotiables, my decisions, all that and it revealed that at the end of the day, I’m a popular loner. I like people but I love myself, im a team player but always worked jobs where I was told what to do and did it by myself. In school, with group assignments, I would gather everyone’s information and I had to go over everything and make sure it’s done right before ” I ” turned it in. So yeah I’m honored I had that assignment on what I wanted to be when I grew up because it shifted me into what I wasn’t going to be. When pivotal moments happen in your life, go ahead and move the needle it’s the Universe’s way of letting you know you are headed in the right direction!
