Hi Judith, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Chic Allie started with the idea of providing innovative and on-trend makeup for women. While trying makeup with my mom, who has leukemia, I was reminded how makeup could make you feel better no matter what you’re going through. During those moments, we enjoyed seeing each other pretty, and that’s when I realized the enormous impact makeup could have on women, regardless of their health or any other circumstance they go through daily. It was then that I decided to start Chic Allie to make women feel good about themselves and, at the same time, support all women fighting cancer.
All Chic Allie’s cosmetic products are vegan, cruelty-free, and support a cause. My way to give back to the community is by donating a percentage of all purchases to a woman fighting against cancer.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think there is an easy path in business. Everything requires an effort; either financial support or personal/family time. One of my biggest challenges was to start a business from zero- from creating the brand (logo, colors, name, and brand identity, website, social media) to testing products, product selection, suppliers, and logistics; while balancing my time between my kids, husband, home, family, and full-time job. I created my business with a lot of effort and passion by working late at night when the kids were sleeping or when I had some free time. I think the hardest part is the first step, then it becomes a little easier to balance the rest.

Helping others.
I have been fortunate to receive help (in many ways) from family, friends, and even people I don’t know. Cancer came uninvited to my life 5 years ago; it started with my dad, then my father-in-law, and now my mom. I’ve been through many ups and downs in the past 5 years, but thanks to the support of others, I am strong and motivated. Now it’s my turn to give back and help others that need it the most.
