Ashley, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi, my name is Ashley Umanzor!
I am the owner of Iamforyuevents. My company started in 2020 unofficially. I would create charcuterie boards for little gatherings. People on social media started to notice and reached out asking how they could order and if I had a website. About 6 months later, I started an Instagram page and I am currently working on my website. My business started with just Charcuterie board and now we offer Flower walls and balloon arches (for all types of events). I have hired a close friend of mine her name Jesica Tanis, she comes from a party planning background and her eye for detail is impeccable. We are so lucky to have her apart of our team! I can’t wait to see where the company goes in the next year.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I am so grateful that I have such a supportive husband who steps in and handles all the heavy lifting. But in the beginning, we had a few bumps learning with learning market pricing to scheduling conflicts. Social media was probably the toughest part to learn but with time everything started to fall into place.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We offer full event planning for birthdays, baby showers, baptisms, etc. We started offering balloon garlands as of recently but our core items are our 3D flower walls. What I feel sets up apart is we pride ourselves on providing the best customer service. For example, we had a set up for a baby shower at this beautiful venue. The mother-to-be was struggling to get things put together in time for her event. Myself and my husband finished our install and instantly started to help her set up tables, decor, etc. For us, we understand how stressful (but beautiful) parties can be but we always want to make sure our customer isn’t stressed and is able to enjoy their event.
