Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Kristy Hamilton.
Hi Dr. Hamilton, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a board-certified aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon, based in Houston, Texas. My vision is one of refined elegance, quiet personal attention, and artistic detail for my patients as I craft, create and achieve their desired aesthetic goals – surgically and non-surgically. My purpose is to optimize the face, breast and body, while truly infusing my patients with confidence and a ‘joie de vivre’.
With the statement – “I am a board-certified plastic surgeon” – comes the rigor of the training, the achievement of technical competencies, the deep knowledge of anatomy – and ultimately an understanding of safety and ethics in plastic surgery. What happens next is where the magic lies – where my patients and I together visualize the work of art we can achieve with the human form. My creative passion invents this 3D concept of the human body – balanced and harmonious in its features – and I work dynamically to bring that vision to life with my aesthetic eye and precise hands. Ultimately, I seek to deliver joy and confidence to my patients, and I do so by sculpting with the scalpel and the needle.
The combination of form and function, artistry and technical skill, compassionate care and surgical problem-solving all coalesce in my practice. It is the true integration of art and science that enables me to achieve high-impact results for my patients. Each patient is a puzzle. Each consultation poses the question of how I can best serve this human being employing state-of-the-art techniques. Each treatment is artistically customized and seeks to enhance, to empower, and to beautify. My talented team and I deal in happiness and the realization of dreams! I absolutely love what I do each and every day, and it is a true joy to be able to care for others and empower them.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I find the great challenge in aesthetic plastic surgery to be changing the way it is perceived. At first glance, aesthetic plastic surgery can appear both literally and figuratively ‘superficial’. Scratch deeper than the surface, and it becomes clear that enhancing or adjusting the physical self directly impacts the psychological self. Human beings possess an innate desire to be surrounded by beauty and to see themselves as beautiful – not necessarily for the sake of beauty itself, but for the serenity and quality of life it can bring to those who seek it. Some patients will outwardly share their motivation behind cosmetic changes – and some may keep it deep within. An impactful story that comes to mind is a lovely woman who came to see me with a very deviated nose that was so crooked it occupied the center stage of her face. After performing a non-surgical rhinoplasty (nose-reshaping procedure) – carefully building the bridge, lifting the tip, and camouflaging the dorsal hump and its irregularities – my patient burst out into tears upon seeing her face in the mirror for the first time. The source of her crooked nose had been – in fact – trauma from a past relationship. Now, when she looks in the mirror, she no longer relives that experience from her past, and her new facial appearance floods her with happiness and self-confidence! Aesthetic plastic surgery can truly be life-changing. The stories continue – a little liposuction to finally feel good in a bathing suit and join summer activities with friends in the pool; breast augmentation to build confidence while out in the dating world; a facelift to look as refreshed on the outside as one feels on the inside. None of these procedures are needed in the traditional sense, however, the impact on quality of life and self-confidence is tremendous, even immeasurable. My goal for all my patients is for them to feel completely empowered by their surgical and non-surgical procedures so they go for that promotion, feel confident on that date, and wear that beautiful piece of clothing that has been hanging in their closet for too long – this is the magic of aesthetic plastic surgery!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about your work?
I am a board-certified aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon in Houston with a specialization in aesthetic surgery of the face, nose, breast and body, emphasizing natural-looking results – both surgical and non-surgical. My passion is supporting my patients in their journey to look and feel their most confident, beautiful selves. It is a great privilege to take care of each and every one of my patients, and I strive to provide the highest level of compassionate, customized care while creating proportion, symmetry and harmony with my hands. My signature procedures include finesse rhinoplasty, facial optimization (both surgically and non-surgically) and global body sculpting that reveal an elevated, refined aesthetic.
Human beings have a natural-born desire to present their best selves to the world. In this light, my passion is delivering optimal definition, harmony, and balance to the face, nose, breast, and body to transform my patients — beautifully, subtly, and artistically — into the very best version of themselves. In doing so, I achieve my ultimate goal, enabling my patients to embrace life to the fullest with passion, strength and confidence! My practice is especially noted for the quality of the patient experience — each member of my team cares so deeply about each patient. We seek to treat each individual like we would our own family members, and I truly believe my patients can tell the difference. I believe in listening carefully to my patients, taking the time to truly hear their story and their goals. The purity of this attention informs my ultimate plan of care, and ultimately leads – I believe – to optimal results.
It is also important to me to be able to take full care of my patients – from non-surgical to surgical approaches, starting with a foundation of healthy skin and soft tissues. My patients receive a comprehensive plan that incorporates all elements of modern beauty from skin care and injectable procedures to minimally invasive surgical rejuvenation to definitive surgical treatment.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Have a high-impact idea and have integrity. You have the opportunity to improve the lives of those around you – and you will feel good about what you do each and every day if the idea serves other people. Remember that everyone starts at the beginning. Every successful company began as an idea, and an inspired person or group of people started it. Be inspiring in your dreams and ideas, treat people well, and others will join you in your cause.
Be confident, yet stay humble. In my opinion, the best risk you can take is to take the plunge and bet on yourself! It takes courage to start a practice or be a creator – there is so much to learn, and you may make mistakes along the way — yet you will grow inordinately from those experiences and have the opportunity to develop something truly exceptional. To create something like this – something transformational – is well worth the risk and so life-fulfilling! Surround yourself with excellent advisors that you trust to tell you the truth, even if it is a hard truth; and always remain someone who welcomes the feedback. Those who truly care about you will tell you honestly what is working and what is not – and then listen, correct course and shoot for the stars!
