Hi Morgan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
We all start somewhere, my career started with me barely knowing how to curl my own hair. But with lots of practice (and patience), I was able to do that and more. My dedication to becoming the best I could be as a hairstylist launched an excitement in hair that I didn’t know was in me. The creativity, constant growth, and everything that comes with doing hair are why I fell in love with the industry.
After many education classes on color and “how-to” videos, I found a love for blondes, lived in color & extensions! I love creating looks specifically tailored to your hair needs. Whether you love to be bold & bright or subtle & low-maintenance, I hope to create your dream hair. When you sit in my chair, you are treated like you’re one of a kind because you are! No two people are the same, you have been created with your own unique beauty.
I started off assisting like any other newbie out of beauty school. That turned into growing my clientele as a stylist which ultimately lead to my decision to build & opening up my own studio. As intimidating as it was, I am so happy I made that move in my career.
I’ve been extremely blessed with opportunities throughout my entire career. I couldn’t have done it all without the support of my family, closest friends & clients.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I would say yes and no.
No, because I’ve had to learn all the ins and outs of owning my own business while still maintaining the clients that I do have and building onto my clientele. Which can be overwhelming! Not too many complaints. I enjoyed the challenge.
Yes because I am fortunate enough to have people in my life who have been able to guide me along this process. As well as everything that has happened (an example: my studio space being available when it was) has seriously been thrown into my lap. Like I said earlier, I’ve been extremely blessed during this entire process.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Most hairstylists like to choose an area to specialize in. I’ve found a love for blonding, creating lived-in color that is extremely natural yet makes a big impact on your look & extensions. I would say I am mainly known for my blonding & lived-in color skills. Like Kourtney Kardashian said, “it’s like that effortless look but it’s actually a lot of effort”.
I am most proud of my blonding. Each blonding client that comes in has a special place in my heart! The best way I can explain it is that no two heads of hair are the same. The creativity behind it, the science, and all the needy hair stuff are what make it so special and extremely fun to do!
I’m different because I take the time, education, and extra effort to make sure your hair looks and feels great. I do not have a double book – you’re receiving my FULL attention when sitting in my chair because that’s what you deserve!
What makes you happy?
As a hairstylist, I’d say my happiness comes from my client’s happiness.
It’s amazing to be able to witness someone falling in love with themselves all over again after a single hair appointment. I’m your personal hype girl for a few hours while in my chair. I hope to make my clients feel loved, accepted, confident & beautiful. I’ve always said if I can help just one person feel good about themselves, and gain confidence, my work is complete.
