Check Out Ka’Jhé’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ka’Jhé.

Hi Ka’Jhé, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started off by writing poems when I was younger. I always wanted to sing but never truly felt connected to the idea until I discovered Jhene Aiko. She has such a soft tone and she felt relatable. That’s when I was like, “Okay, maybe I can do this”.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part, I have been fortunate enough to always have someone by my side throughout this journey.

Whether it was my friends recording me on campus, or when I was in a band and we had a home studio that just let us be us and experiment, or now where I have an engineer that’s with me every step of the way. I have never had to go through much alone and I’m so grateful for everyone who helped me along the way.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an R&B artist from Houston and I am proud of how far I’ve come because it lets me know how much further I can go!

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was wiping my savings completely out so that I could buy my first recording mic. It didn’t really feel like a risk to me, it felt more like something I needed to do and it was something I really wanted to do. I was more excited than anything.
