Hidden Gems: Meet Kelsey Daingerfield of The Virtual Integrator

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsey Daingerfield.

Kelsey, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story starts like many others who graduated during the economic crisis in the early 2000s. I graduated from business school with a bachelor’s degree to work three part-time jobs. While frustrating, I learned how to manage my time, set achievable goals, and pivot when required. It also helps that I was in my early 20s and full of energy. But I was relentless. I leveraged my retail job by developing customer relationships and quickly began networking for full-time opportunities. After six months, I landed a full-time job, it didn’t pay much, but I would be doing marketing which was my degree. My full-time marketing career allowed me to dabble in Google Ads, website design, product management, and project management. After a few years, an opportunity came knocking that would be the best career change I have evener made. I was recruited into Starbucks’ store management training program that would train me and nurture me to be the next store manager in my district. Little did I know that this role would challenge me more than anything I’ve ever done and also foster my love of lean processes, operational excellence, and project management.

After running my store for a few years, my husband and I relocated from the east coast to the Midwest for his work, and I started over again. I found a job as an administrative assistant at a local university. This role evolved into a Director position where I led process improvement initiatives, managed enterprise projects, and began developing standard operating procedures for business operations. Now, I’m a full-time project manager with my MBA, PMP, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, running a Private Coaching and business consulting business. I help business owners bring clarity, alignment, and focus to their businesses and lives.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I find there is always something that causes you to struggle. From having jobs with no growth or leadership who doesn’t support you, doesn’t appreciate you, or sees your value. Being told you’re not smart enough to understand something or being looked down upon based on gender. But I’ve had jobs where I’ve been encouraged, I’ve been challenged, and I’ve been seen.

Struggle can be a positive thing. You need to adjust how you see it. I’ve approached every experience as a learning opportunity, helping me figure out what I like and don’t like, what I want to be like, and what I never want to end up as. It’s shaped me into the leader and person I am today. I am constantly focusing on teaching myself out of a job because that’s another person I can help. That’s another business I can help build bench strength.

We’ve been impressed with The Virtual Integrator ™, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m the founder and CEO of The Virtual Integrator TM, an online business management and private coaching company. I help business owners gain focus and alignment on their operations and strategies by breaking down visions and ideas into manageable goals. What sets me apart from others is that I get it.

My specialty is that I can help you develop a path and a plan that allows you to build better boundaries, routines, and processes that help you pivot and focus where needed and know you will be okay. I get the want and the need to build something that brings independence to your life. That allows you to do other things and be “free.” But I also get that at the end of the day, we still have our responsibilities, we are business owners, employees, parents, and even students.

My services include private coaching, online business management (OBM), strategy sessions, and inbox organization. Each of my services provides support and clarity that help reduce stress and anxiety while offering support and accountability. Running a business can be lonely. Heck, even parenting can be. That’s why having a coach is so important. You’re never in it alone.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
