Meet Josiah Jean

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josiah Jean.

Josiah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey in Professional wrestling started when I was a child watching an episode of WWE Smackdown. Seeing Houston wrestling legends like Booker T or The Undertaker piqued my interest in wrestling they were larger than life. Eventually, my dad took me to an NWA Houston wrestling show, and that’s when I knew this impossible dream was possible. One of the wrestlers told me that if I wanted to become a professional wrestler, I should join my high school’s wrestling team, so once I made it to high school the first thing I did was join the wrestling team. My motivation for becoming a good mat wrestler was my want to become a great professional wrestler. FastForward to 2021, I decided it was time to make my dream a reality, so I made the drive to Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling school. I’ll never forget the feeling of walking into that building for the first time knowing that this is where my dream in professional wrestling begins. In every commercial for the school, the guy always says, “If you can make it here you can make it anywhere,” and that’s what I was determined to do.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey on this professional wrestling road hasn’t always been smooth. When you are trying to be great at anything it comes with its one difficulty, but it’s not impossible. The biggest struggle like in any other professional sport is trying to make it to the bigger organizations like WWE. So many talents want the same opportunity you do, and trying to figure out what sets you apart and makes you extraordinary can be challenging at times.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a professional wrestler, and I specialize in sports entertainment. I am known for my role on the Reality of Wrestling episodic television show on CW39. I am most proud of competing against the biggest names in Texas, like Ryan Davidson, Gino Medina, and Mantell. What sets me apart from others is my use of my natural-born athleticism to be able to perform in the ring.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
There is a famous quote by Booker T that I say to myself every day. He says, “Preparation is the only luck you are ever going to get.” I’ve been preparing for this business of professional wrestling since day one, and I still am to this day. I don’t believe there is look, but when opportunities come, and no one sees the work you out in behind close doors, they mistake it for luck.
