Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Beth Wesley.
Mary Beth, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Welcome to Fifty Seven Bloom Co.! I’m Mary Beth Wesley, owner, and lead designer. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2018 (WHOOP) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Horticulture – Floral Design and Event Planning, a minor in Recreation, Park & Tourism Sciences – Tourism Management, a certificate in Professional Event Management, and a certificate in Hospitality Management.
Fifty Seven Bloom Co. was established in 2021 after working for Urban Rubbish Floristry for five years.
By offering personalized designs, specialty rentals, and many other event services, my hope is to put clients at ease through their wedding or event planning.
I am fueled by my love for flowers and bringing joy to clients on some of the best days of their lives.
What started off as a small-town cattle brand has shifted into a small-town floral business.
My great-grandfather, Willie Rumfield, registered the 57 brand for his herd of cattle in the early 1900s. Much like Heinz was known for having 57 varieties, his herd was never pure-bred cattle but was full of good, hardy, crossbred stock. The 57 cattle brand was passed from my great-grandfather to my grandfather to my father, and now to me.
In true Mary Beth fashion, I have put a floral spin on this classic idea! As a girl who’s always been a lover of tradition, legacy, and history, I can’t think of a better way to carry my family through this journey with me. I am proud to continue a legacy of offering variety through a medium I have grown to be so passionate about.
As a small floral studio, it is my goal to always exceed client expectations with a wide range of services. I take great pride in my commitment to quality service and strive to give you a truly beautiful, unique, custom-tailored experience.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far, it has been pretty smooth sailing. I’m so grateful my husband has been in a position at his job to allow me to chase my dreams. Our families have really banded together to help with our kids and the business in anyway they can. Our clients have been incredible; each one has been like part of our family along the way. We have really been so blessed!
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Fifty Seven Bloom Co.?
We take great pride in our commitment to quality service and strive to give you a truly beautiful, unique, custom-tailored experience. Building a relationship with our clients is not just a business strategy, it is a genuine desire to “bloom where we are planted.” We offer floral designs for weddings, special events, and all kinds of parties and celebrations. We also have a retail storefront in Downtown Anderson, Texas where we offer the sweetest gifts, daily arrangements, and plants!
My favorite part of owning a business is making personal connections with my clients! Be warned: I’m a hugger!!!
I’m most proud of the brand we are creating and how we have leaned into what it means to create a loving and accepting environment for all of our clients, in the store and on an event day.
What matters most to you?
FAMILY. They have helped me get to where I am now. Without them, I don’t think this business would be anywhere close to where it is. INTEGRITY. I believe in being an open book with anyone and everyone. I think honesty has played a huge role in where we are and how we have gotten here. My hope is that my clients appreciate the ways we try to help them make their special days so special!
