Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Cade.
Hi Chris, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Chris Cade, and I’d like to say that I’m a kingdom media mogul. I started dabbling in media when I was young, and it has built up over time. I love God, and I’m wanting to build His kingdom through media. I call myself a media mogul because I have my hand in music, podcasting, acting, writing, producing, and much more. God and Discipline has gotten me to where I am today. I have found that my discipline comes from knowing that it is not about feelings. Discipline is about going forward despite your feelings…
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all! I had many failed YouTube channels where I would try to do skits or give advice or both and it just wouldn’t ever take off. I felt like a failure many times because I was comparing myself to others and how they were taking off. Same in music. My music didn’t sound like the industry music, so I thought that it wasn’t good enough for the longest time. I found that people would tell me it’s good to be different but wouldn’t support my uniqueness. Your own mind is your worst enemy. It knows your insecurities, and you will think of every single one of them at the same time, but God helped me to discover that I truly don’t know what the future holds. The only way to know how people will react is to actually put it out. The key is to keep going forward until you close your eyes for good.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Kingdom Producer/ Rapper: Artist Name: Chris vs. The World. My name is about going against the world’s system when it comes to making you compare yourself to others on social media/in-person. People make you feel like you’re not good enough or your uniqueness isn’t good enough. God gave all of us something that the world needs not the other way around.
Writer/Actor/Director: Film Company: StraitGate Films and Creative company: Vision 2:22 Both my film and creative company are for inspiring people to go higher and believe that they have more inside of them. The films, shows, and podcasts to come and the ones I’ve done on FB and my YouTube are just a tiny piece of all I want to do with these companies.
I believe what sets me apart is me being me. I do have people that I respect, but I’ve learned if I don’t go down my individually unique path, then the world will never have what Chris vs. The World has to offer. People can only get close to what you’ve created, but they can never do it, just like you. There will always be a piece missing.
We’d love to hear about what you think about risk-taking.
I feel that risk-taking is truly defined as stepping out of your comfort zone. I believe that the risks you take are still connected to something within your ability to do. I will say that risk-taking should always be paired with preparation. I do believe that there is healthy risk-taking like investing in your business, because it’s the only way to push it forward. I believe unhealthy risk-taking is investing in things that you haven’t prepared for or don’t know anything about.
For me, I’ve bought equipment with a big chunk of my paycheck or traveled to far places not knowing if it would yield results. The key to remember is that many times taking risks is a leap of faith. I wouldn’t recommend anything crazy like rock climbing without a harness unless you have prepared for it. Like I said, risk-taking plus preparation is the best kind.
