Today we’d like to introduce you to Shante Williams.
Hi Shante, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I started my career back in 2015 because a friend suggested I become a DJ. My dad and brother were both DJs, and it was something I never thought I’d do. But I was tired of corporate America and wanted to start my journey as an entrepreneur. So, I invested in my equipment, reached out to some club promoter friends, and started my journey as a DJ. Fast forward a year later, I was brought on to 93.7 The Beat (iHeartradio) as a mixer. Then 2 yrs. later given my own Saturday night show. Then promoted to on-air talent & producer for the Breakfast Club Morning Show. You could find me in all the top clubs in Houston. I created platforms for artists to be heard and played on radio. I left radio and the club scene and became a corporate DJ working with different brands like Twitter, Nike, Recording Academy, Apple Music, Red Bull, Sephora, and more.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road. It was all fun until COVID hit. Then my career slowed down drastically. During COVID, I was traveling out of town for gigs, but the DJ scene was at a standstill for a while.

Shanté Williams is a DJ and On-Air Personality (formerly on Houston’s iHeartradio 93.7 The Beat). Shanté has now joined the SiriusXM family, and you can catch her mixing live on (Channel 42) Sound42 (#Houstatlantavegas Saturdays). Well known for her impressive sneaker collection and unique style. When she’s not DJing On-Air, Shanté can be found mixing live in some of Houston’s & LA’s hottest spots & top corporate branded events. With 8 years as a professional DJ, Shante’s brand has become international as she has DJed events in Germany, Aruba, Bali, Paris, and Mexico, to name a few. Shanté spins everything from Top ’40s & Throwback Hip-hop, Pop, & R&B with a ‘lil sauce. She also partners with major brands such as Twitter, Nike, Recording Academy, Apple Music, Red Bull, Sephora, and many more. Shanté continues to expand her brand as a staple in the LGBTQ community. Empowering Women is a major focus for Shanté, and she thrives to lead by example in her career and in life.

LOYALTY
Any successful relationship, whether it be business love or friendship, involves loyalty. Without loyalty, relationships become inconsistent & fragile. Loyalty to me means giving someone your consistent love and support no matter what.
