Community Highlights: Meet Destiny Collins of Supreme Works Incorporated

Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Collins.

Hi Destiny, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Destiny Collins, and I am a University of Houston Alumnae #GoCoogs! I graduated in 2016 with two Bachelor of Science Degrees in Public Health and Human Development of Family Studies with a minor in Biology. During my senior year capstone internship requirement, I had the pleasure of working with a Non-Profit contractor within the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to feed At-Risk-After-School children free, nutritious meals throughout the state of Texas.

The internship was very impactful for the students and me. Upon graduating, I established Supreme Works Incorporated, a Non-profit (501c3) organization which contracts with USDA to continuously feed children’s free meals, contributing to the wellness, healthy growth, and development of young children throughout the state of Texas.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Developing and promoting my organization has not come without struggles. The main obstacle Supreme Works Incorporated has encountered is exposure. Oftentimes, parents and children are not aware of the program. When school is not in session, many children do not have access to nutritious meals. Increasing our presence in the community allows Supreme Works Incorporated to reach greater masses of At-Risk Afterschool participants.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Supreme Works Incorporated are proud partners with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Our amazing team of board members, employees, and volunteers are committed to feeding hungry children and adults FREE nutritious meals throughout the state of Texas.

Supreme Works Incorporated is a Non-Profit 501 (c)(3) organization that provides free, nutritious meals to At-Risk After School centers throughout communities in Texas. We ensure the youth has a safe place to gather after school while consuming free, nutritious meals. Our program allows participants to engage in physical, educational, and/or social activities while school is out!

We also provide our services to Freshmen students at colleges/universities! Although meal plans are provided, there is still a culture of food disparities amongst students. Notably, this crisis profoundly impacts college students whose population of food insecurities are largely under-recognized and under-examined.

Supreme Works Inc. is most proud to contribute wellness, healthy growth, and development of young children in public and private schools/organizations, churches, At-Risk children, After-School care programs, and outside-school-hours care centers. We are excited to feed hundreds of children each day; therefore, if you would like for us to sponsor your facility/organization please contact us for more information!

What does success mean to you?
The definition of success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Professionally, success is the ability of Supreme Works Incorporated to continue to be a positive impact in the community. The continuation of our organization to feed and observe the smiles, wellness, and satisfaction of the children continues to help us thrive.
