Daily Inspiration: Meet Tasha Daniels

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Daniels.

Hi Tasha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Coily Products, LLC was established in Florida by Tasha as a line of all-natural hair products that she created out of necessity. Initially used by her family, the products quickly gained popularity in the community and were eventually picked up by a local salon owner and sold at the community flea market. Unfortunately, the business suffered a setback due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced it to temporarily shut down. But after the pandemic subsided, the business bounced back and even expanded its offerings to include services. Today, Tasha is not just a renowned loctician in Houston but also a community leader who partners with other small businesses to provide discounted hair services for underprivileged children and feed the community.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Getting to where we are today has been a challenging journey. Like many other businesses, we had to navigate through the COVID-19 shutdown, all while juggling the responsibilities of motherhood. Tasha acknowledges that there were tough times, but she never considered giving up. She believes that quitting would only hinder progress and prevent things from improving. Instead, she persevered, and it has paid off in the end.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
In the natural hair care industry, there are countless loc-ticians, but what sets Coily Products apart is our dedication to helping our community. We don’t just focus on hair care, but we also prioritize community care by building meaningful relationships with those around us. Additionally, we take pride in educating our clients about hair care rather than just providing retwisting and styling services. Our goal is to make a difference in the lives of our clients, and we do that by genuinely caring about their hair and overall well-being.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My children are my most significant support system. They assist me with a lot of the behind-the-scenes work involved in running Coily Products. They help me distribute business cards to potential clients, set up and break down booths at events, and even model and test new product formulas. Moreover, they motivate me to keep pushing forward. As my biggest promoters, they always talk about their mom’s products and achievements to anyone who will listen. Without their support, there would be no Coily Products.
