Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly White.
Kimberly, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Almost a decade ago, in my early thirties, I began to embark on a journey of self-discovery. While working as a makeup artist in Houston, I found joy in connecting with women from all walks of life, listening to their stories, and sharing in their experiences. During this time, I was also creating motivational videos and practicing yoga. However, my life took an unexpected turn after a short but toxic relationship with a narcissist.
In the beginning, this person seemed like the perfect match for me, but as time passed, his behavior became increasingly erratic and abusive. Despite my intuition telling me that something was not right, I tried to ignore it. Eventually, I found myself in a confusing and painful situation, feeling connected to a person who was mistreating me.
I decided to break off the relationship, but I was left feeling completely broken and unsure of myself. I thought, “How can someone with so much of their life together end up here?” It was then that I realized that I needed to take a step back from my work and allow myself time to heal. I sought out therapy and began to focus on my own spiritual growth, which helped me shift my perspective on life.
I eventually learned that the relationship had been brought into my life for the purpose of healing childhood wounds that I had tried to mask or ignore. I began to understand myself on a deeper level, embracing God’s love for me rather than striving to love God more. I found solace in the healing power of nature, recognizing that just as we give trees carbon dioxide and they give us oxygen in return, nature helped to restore me.
The transformation was so deep and rewarding that I soon returned to speaking and started a podcast where I would share this knowledge with other women on their healing journeys. My goal is to help others on a path realize that self-worth is immeasurable by the standards of others, and life changes when we begin to go within. It truly has for me!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not! It took a lot of courage to confront toxic behavior and make changes that ultimately led to growth and healing. Going “no contact” with a narcissist is not an easy task, but it was necessary for my own well-being. Healing is not a linear process, and there will be setbacks along the way, but with each setback comes an opportunity to learn and grow. It’s hard to remember that when you’re in the thick of it.
My biggest challenge was when I began noticing that some of my non-romantic relationships, from friends and family to employers, mirrored the narcissist’s toxic behaviors. It was then that I realized he didn’t hold all the blame: I was the common denominator in attracting these relationships! The toxicity around me only reflected my unhealed inner child, which was in turmoil. So, when he was no longer to blame, I had to face the mirror, and that is when the deeper work began. That’s when the real change came.
The lessons I have learned in breaking toxic cycles have helped me in all areas, including spiritually, financially, career-wise, relationship-wise, and health-wise. I’ve traveled the world, checked off bucket list items, and learned the beautiful art of practicing boundaries. The most beautiful opportunities have come to me as a result of sticking with this process, and having a good community around me has made a world of difference! Even though, the most important relationship in life is the one we have with ourselves, you will not heal alone. God, spirit, the ancestors, and the universe brought me the connections, messages, and confirmations I needed to keep pushing as I was birthing this new version of myself. This is why I love to pour into others and remind them that our biggest hurdles lead to the greatest comebacks when we reconnect to the kingdom within us.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others? I’d love to tell you!
The project I’m most excited about is called “Wake Up Goddess.” A free 1-hour training followed by a six-week course I co-created with my mentor Kim Bady and our Divine Tribe.
We are intentional about helping women unlock their divine feminine essence and tap into their hidden power. Our course guides participants on a journey back to themselves with sacred practices such as womb work, meditation, movement, and journal prompts to align with each week’s theme. Additionally, our program includes weekend community coaching sessions in a safe space and ends with a “5 Days of Pleasure Challenge.” It’s time that we begin to align, awaken, and reclaim our energy. I’m grateful to be able to partner with Kim, who’s been doing this work for 20 years, and bring my experience to the women who are awakening today!
More information can be found at www.wakeupgoddess.com. There are still slots available for the free training session on May 15th. Join us!
I also created a podcast to inspire those on a path to self-discovery. The “Walking in H.E.A.L.S.” podcast is available on YouTube and all streaming platforms.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
It’s important to remember that sometimes the greatest rewards come from stepping outside of our comfort zones. It can be scary to take a leap of faith, but it can also be incredibly empowering. By trusting our intuition and listening to our bodies, we can make informed decisions that align with our values and passions.
It’s also worth noting that growth and learning don’t always come from success. Sometimes I’ve learned the most from my failures and mistakes. Embracing this mindset has helped me approach challenges with a sense of curiosity and openness rather than fear and anxiety.
Regardless of the step we take, right or wrong, perfect or imperfect, we just need to keep taking steps, keep learning, and keep growing. Staying true to ourselves and our goals, even in the face of uncertainty. Knowing that we are divinely supported.
