Today we’d like to introduce you to Douglas Hopson.
Hi Douglas, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My journey has brought me from sexual abuse victim to survivor, to someone who is thriving and living. Now he travels the world, sharing his story and providing a voice for children that deserve and require access to justice and healing. I am a child abuse advocate, a certified life coach, a successful businessman, a John Maxwell speaker, a loving husband, and a father.
Before he became a life coach, before my children were born, before I started a nonprofit organization that serves as the voice in the wilderness for those who live in silence, before I had a chance to experience love… my first experience with love was that of broken glass. This heart-wrenching and painful experience as a child led me to years of brokenness and rejection. After years of struggling behind closed doors, I now share his heartbreaking story with the world in The Untold Secret.
As a self-published author, my book is being picked up by numerous bookstores across the country and has already made the Amazon.com bestseller list. In addition, his story was so gripping and profound that it caught the attention of two-time Academy Award-winning film producer Willie Burton (War Games, Dreamgirls, Tenet). With assistance from filmmaker Dorez Douglas (Beverly Hood, Voices, Still We Rise: Life In 2020), a movie based on the book THE UNTOLD SECRET is coming to a screen near you.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Child abuse is called the “silent epidemic” because it impacts so many children and families, yet is often not talked about. Child abuse is acts or omissions by a person that results in physical, emotional, sexual, or neglectful injury to a child.
Child abuse not only affects the victimized children, but it has far-reaching impacts on families, the courts and criminal justice system, hospitals and health care, jails, mental health services, law enforcement, our schools, and human services agencies. I’m devoted and committed to being the light in this dark world of child abuse. Aid in the journey to change the narrative as he is the voice speaking to many.

I am an early childhood trauma specialist, I help educators, parents, and other professionals identify the early warning signs of child sexual trauma. I’m the owner of Hair By Inoubliable, Divine Purpose Music Group. A father, Grandfather, and Devoted Husband.
