Daily Inspiration: Meet Meghan Warren

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meghan Warren.

Hi Meghan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have built a business around my passion for party planning for the past 20+ years. I specialize in children’s parties and detailed intimate gatherings, but have done it all! I worked as an Event Manager and Wedding Planner for both corporate and non-profit organizations.

While I loved the larger events, I realized that I was longing for more of a connection with customers and so I started MW Events. Each event is unique and I love playing a part in making them memorable. Owning a small business has fulfilled my desire in creating lasting relationships with clients and really get to know them and their families.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
You know, I have taken my time. Through my husband’s job, we have been fortunate to travel and move from a small island in the Pacific to the top of a mountain in Colorado and finally now, home to Texas. Throughout these moves, I have been able to take my business with me!

With our 3 children, we are quite busy with activities and I love that I have the flexibility to take on parties when it works well for me and my family. It really is the best of both worlds – I am available for our family and friends but also have the amazing creative outlet to fulfill my dreams.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
There is nothing better than seeing the JOY on a child’s face when they walk into a party that I have created. To take their favorite characters or toys and bring them to life to celebrate with their friends and family is my specialty.

I love the interactive experience of a party and try to create an environment where the children are always engaged, the parents are comfortable and everyone walks away not wanting to leave.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
There is so much creativity online and I know it is so much work to keep up with your social media content, but I am so grateful to other party planners. I gain so much knowledge and inspiration by following their parties on social media.

It is also important to follow party planning vendors – seeing what the new and upcoming trends are so you can offer them to your clients and I ALWAYS use local vendors. Creating a supportive community is key!
