Rising Stars: Meet Ashlye Jones-Dudley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlye Jones-Dudley.

Hi Ashlye, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I attended my first Boule for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. which was held in Houston, TX. I wanted to wear something special so I created brooch ties for my outfits for the conference. I received so many compliments and thought maybe I should make them available for sale.

I have always been creative. This time I thought it would be an amazing opportunity to combine my passion for crafting and start a business.

With great reviews and a perfectionist attitude, I have filled thousands of orders and have received hundreds of 5-star reviews. I have also received so much support from family and friends that allow me to complete my business after my 8-5 or have supported my business by purchasing from me.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. It has been a challenge to find the balance of being a wife, a mother, having a full-time job, being a daughter, sister, and friend. I am still working on finding that balance and will provide the details once I figure it out.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work for a global third-party administrator for pre-employment screening services. I specialize in DOT compliance and help to make sure our roads are safe. I am known for being very reliable and knowledgeable.

I enjoy nurturing relationships and turning them into a tangible solutions for my clients. My persistence and patience (although wavering) seem to be what sets me apart. I also really care. Having a genuine interest in presenting and providing a solution that works for my clients is very important to me.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is my grandparent’s 50th anniversary. That was a very special day. All of the younger kids sang a tribute to them. We reenacted the scene from The Cosby Show where the kids sang “Night Time is the Right Time” by Ray Charles.
