Meet Christina Simpson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Simpson.

Hi Christina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I got started after my father passed in 2018. My family is very large, and it was a lot of family members to depend on. If one family was in need, the family will help each other in what they needed. Helping people was instilled in me since I was a child. Still to this day, they still help each other. After my father passed, I decided to start my nonprofit in 2019. My parents always wanted their children to be successful and do something with our lives. I decided to name my nonprofit after my parents, B&P Charities and Nonprofits. These are my parents’ initials, and this is a tribute to them. I wanted to show them that all their hard work has pushed me to help those in need around me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was a struggle in the beginning. When you have a nonprofit, that means everything comes from donations or you’re using your own money. I was so determined to get my charity started; I decided to work two jobs. I used my part-time job to fund my business. I also work with other small business owners to get things done as well. I also launched a t-shirt line called We Want More, and the struggle was fulfilling orders because it was my first time. I decided to add this along with the charity to help raise money for more events.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I graduated in 2009 with my A.A.S in Criminal Justice, and I worked in corrections for two years. I left there and decided to go in logistics, and I been in leadership for over 10 years. I love working with people and meeting new people. Being in leadership has shown me how to work with different types of individuals. I love bringing comedy to the workplace or in general. I love having fun because it makes everyone day. I’m very proud of all my accomplishments. Everything I put my mind to, I’ll complete it. I never thought that I would own a businesses. When I serve others, it brings me joy and the believe that set me apart from others.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Everyone who comes along to help deserves credit. My family, friends, and strangers. I would like to start with my family (mother, sister, brothers and my closest friends.) I will also like to thank some business owners who always join my team to get these events done. I couldn’t do it without them. Thank you Bossed Up Dyvas, Red Velvet Naturals, Printer Junkies, KIPP Polaris Academy for Boys, SG Foods HTX713, Grown and Sexy SC, Elements of Quality, I am Enough, Klass Act SC, Pops Vending, Dem Rolls, Chrissy Kreations, Daspiratual Barber, G3.com, Beautiful Made SC, Fairytale Dreams Boutiques, Big Boi Drip, Eat or Starve and Rell’s Real Fruits. These are most of the small business owners who always support B&P Charities and Nonprofits. Without them, I couldn’t have done most of it. I believe in giving others their credit. No matter what I ask or what event I host, they are there. They go out their way to promote and collect donations from others. I truly appreciate them from the bottom of my heart.
