Today we’d like to introduce you to Geraldine Nunez.
Hi Geraldine, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I was born in Venezuela. I am the daughter of two very loving parents, my father, Gerardo Lawyer, and my mother, Carmen Doctor.
I am lucky to have had them in my upbringing; I have a wonderful relationship with both of them; they are my pillar and unconditional support.
I graduated in 2011 with a degree in advertising and public relations. 2 years later, I visited Madrid, where I did my first makeup studies with MAC for the first time; in 2016, I opened the first specialized training school in Makeup of my country.
I managed to position myself on social media under the name of @maquillartelaescuela, training for 8 years professionals in the area of beauty.
With a lot of perseverance, effort, and passion
Today I have a community of 56.4K where organically, I show my lifestyle. As a mom, wife, make-up artist, and specialist of skincare, I arrived in Houston ago a couple of months, and I brought with me the desire to continue building more, in a multicultural and fascinating country I have managed to connect with people who also love the world of beauty, so I feel deep optimism and hope to achieve even more.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I have always thought that every fight has its glory; I had to put some important things and people behind me and thus be able to grow professionally speaking, but always thanking and trusting in learning.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
The artistic part of the makeup is really beautiful; combining tones, colors, calorimetry, and visagism is the fun part of my job; I specialize in makeup for brides, and it is very nice to be part of that memory for the whole life of the people, I feel that teaching is one of my gifts that comes naturally to me and that makes me different.
What do you think about luck?
I am a faithful believer that we are a perfect plan of God; you ask him, he gives you; if you ask correctly, you receive correctly, everything works for good
