Conversations with Marwa Mahmoud

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marwa Mahmoud.

Marwa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Started cooking from my small apartment in Brooklyn, NY, for the Egyptian community; word got out, and started to see an increase on the number of customer every day. It was not an easy task cooking from that small kitchen in that small apartment, making sure I meet the needs of large and small catering needs while still making sure I cook three meals a day for my family. Home cooking has always been a passion of mine. Growing up in a small town in Egypt, seeing my mother, grandmother, and everyone in the family cooking from scratch has always been in my heart. Realizing these years after, and maybe that this is the secret of my cooking, is that I cook from my heart. I cook like if I’m cooking for my mother and waiting to see her proud of my food. This mission repeats daily for me many time as this is what I’m striving for with every one of my guest.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Space, money, time, and making sure I’m still there for my three girls making sure they have all the support they need as I’m a single mother, so definitely was not an easy one

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
