Daily Inspiration: Meet Sandra Bocanegra

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Bocanegra.

Hi Sandra, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I arrived in the USA 19 years ago, and Real Estate immediately caught my attention. At that time, my English was not good at all so I focused on other areas of work. A few years ago, a very dear friend invited me to work with him, he is a Broker, and I was his assistant. When the pandemic arrived, I finally decided to have my license as a realtor. It’s been 5 years now working and specializing in helping my community achieve their dream of having their own home in Texas! Currently, my team and have been helping my clients in their process, from learning to manage their credit score, saving for closing costs, preparing their taxes correctly to qualify for their loan with our lenders. We are always preparing to give the best opportunities and options to our clients. We are currently specializing in supporting and helping our local Veterans to achieve all the benefits they deserve.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
At first, the language was one of my main barriers. I speak and write Spanish fluently; in fact, in Mexico, I wrote my last boss’s political speeches, and it was very frustrating for me not being able to communicate or even function in a new country and in a new language.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I came to this country with my 2 daughters (8 and 9 years old at that time), 2 suitcases and 2 thousand dollars. As soon I arrived, I decided to make the most of everything this country offered me without forgetting my roots and values. In these years, I have found many “pink friends” thanks to my Mary Kay business. Now they believe in my Real Estate business and recommend me to their friends. I am very proud of my daughters and the life that they have achieved, I am now a grandmother, and my family has multiplied; it is incredible how one of my dreams was to fill one table. The last time we went out because my mom was visiting us to celebrate her birthday, my daughter asked me, “Should I reserve a table for 8?”!! It was at that moment when I realize that God was always filling my table; he was always with me. I am a blessed and very grateful woman!

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next few years, I see myself helping my clients not only buy their dream homes, but also doing business buying investment properties, and achieving the true American Dream.
