Today we’d like to introduce you to Savanna Jackson.
Hi Savanna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Who am I? Honestly, I think it depends on what hat I am wearing that day. In the city and socially I’m known for fitness, modeling, creative direction, and design. My story honestly began in elementary, that’s when I set the tone for who I wanted to be in this life. I didn’t want just one job; I wanted everything! The one constant dream was I always wanted to be a fashion designer, so I learned really young how to sew & construct garments. The first big thing I made was a light-up purse because I just couldn’t understand why I shouldn’t be able to easily see into my bag in the dark… lol. I mean, who is thinking about things like that in the 2nd grade? No one… It was in that moment I knew I wasn’t made to be simple. I don’t believe in being put in a box, and I don’t feel others should be either.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Whew, of course not! I’ve encountered a lot of obstacles along the way, but I think the biggest has been overcoming my biggest enemy, a.k.a. ME. Growing up was taught to be humble and never to move as if I was above anyone else. As the popular kid and an athlete in school, that was a great trait to have so young. Unfortunately, as I grew professionally & creatively, it became one of my biggest weaknesses. I always knew that I was good at whatever I touched, but I never allowed myself to thrive high enough to walk in my highest form.
I wasn’t always in the right head space to peak because every time I felt myself rising, I’d inch back and second-guess myself. That habit of blocking my own blessings for the sake of wanting to be “humble” brought setbacks. Eventually, I woke up one day and said enough is enough!! The lesson in getting out of your own way is really that you can’t operate as your highest form if you don’t walk in it confidently and unapologetically. There will always be someone better than you at something, but if you don’t believe for yourself enough to move like you are the greatest & there’s nothing you can’t do, you’ll never reach said greatness.

Doux Official is an upcoming fashion brand launched in 2022. It is a collection of simple luxury apparel that is driven by passion and art. It works creates unique designs that combine the culture that surrounds streetwear and luxury for both women and men. We specialize in premium garment construction for the local trendsetter. We just recently announced a new ongoing collection of reworked custom denim (check out “ARCHV” on our site). The Branded Experience – The idea to start TBE came about after taking on a few clients for creative direction, design, and marketing. The Branded Experience is not just a business but a winning experience for my clients and their target audience. It is driven by culture, vision, and creativity. The goal to create a safe space for innovators to come together to learn how to build a reputable brands and cultivate the audience in mind. Since I started in 2020, I’ve worked with music artists, photographers, local clothing brands, influencers, and etc. What I’ve enjoyed the most about it is the growth & cultivating longstanding relationships with anyone I’ve worked with. Even if we’re not currently working on a project, you can still find me on the sidelines cheering everyone on!

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
The best advice I could give anyone starting out would be to take your time! We are in a society today where everyone wants results immediately, but not many are actually taking time to embrace the actual journey. When I first started, I moved extremely fast…I had a million different things happening at once. I was always on the go, on set, traveling, taking on new projects, etc. I never took the time to actually really enjoy each thing to the fullest because I was so focused on moving forward to the next level. By doing so, I lost sight of my passion and really myself. I only had one thing on my mind, and that was ultimate success, but I forgot that success is nothing without growth. I made so many mistakes that could’ve been avoided had I embraced patience to allow time to run its course.
When you actually take a step back and trust that all things work out in time, you get to see the reward of your work unfold. It doesn’t mean your journey has to be a struggle or take forever, but anything rushed can & most times leads to chaos down the line. Patience is the best skill to master because you have to allow yourself the room to grow with opportunities. Take the time to actually sit and think through ideas or opportunities before you make move. Walking away from things and coming back gives you so much clarity critical in decision-making and the creative process.
“Slow & steady wins the race,” this doesn’t mean get lazy & put things off. It just saying faith without work is dead. If you don’t have enough faith in things to trust that it will come, then maybe it’s not meant for you. You have to learn to love the journey and find yourself in it. Learn to look at goals less of what life could look like when you hit them and pay attention to the person you become in the process. Any success meant for you or your business will come when you are ready & equipped to receive it!
