Today we’d like to introduce you to Sammy Reyes.
Sammy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey started when my skin went against me, and I developed redness, irritation, and bumps all over my skin. It took a while before doctors and dermatologists could figure out what was wrong and misdiagnosed me with scabies. I tried every method there was to fix what I thought was wrong with me, only to find out it was psoriasis, and still medication wasn’t my resolution. I did research on my own and decided to do natural remedies that were a possibility to heal my skin. After testing many skin beneficial herbs, I crafted plant based soap bars that cleared my psoriasis and kept it clear with daily use. I was confident to share this sacred creation to the world by starting to do pop up markets at montrose market place and from there I added more holistic healing to help others and their journey as well with the skin and the mind. Now, I’m having my shop inside a school bus this month that people are able to come in and shop around with all of the intentional products.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Creating and growing the business isn’t always a smooth road to take, but the struggle I’ve faced would be is converting my school bus. There were struggles on finding the right people, trusting those people, mechanical errors, and having the right equipment. There were moments of weakness where I didn’t know if the dream would become a reality, and I let fear overcome me, but I pushed through my fears and didn’t give up on my bus, and now it’s almost here!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
The work I create are plant-based soap bars, lotions, salves, lip butters, hair conditioner, intention oils & candles. My main specialty would be the soap bars and lotion as they are a great combo to healing the skin, and that makes me really proud that all of the products I create are meant to heal the skin, hair, and mind by using natural herbs that come from Mother Nature itself. What sets me apart from others is the intention and energy I put into these products, how I display them, talk about them, and how I incorporate spiritual healing to everything I do and connecting with nature that provides these amazing herbs that are amazing tools for our health.
What were you like growing up?
As a kid, I’ve always been the one to stand out. I was free-spirited and made the most out of being a kid and, overall, a human being despite the struggles that were thrown to me. I knew that I wanted to be an healer and had a real purpose in this lifetime that I must fulfill.
