Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyrie McAlpin.
Hi Kyrie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
At the Age of 4, I had a big imagination; I knew exactly what I wanted to be at an early age. My mom submitted me to different agencies, both local and out-of-state. We decided it was best to start locally to build my resume. Eventually, I started modeling classes with Mayo Hill, then signed my first acting and modeling contract with Neal-Hamil agency. I went to IMTA, where I was able to find my manager (Doss Talent), then an agent (CESD Talent agency). I started traveling back and forth to Los Angeles over the years, auditioning, and meeting different casting agents and other actors in the industry. My career began to take off, and it required me to spend most of the year working in LA. With that being said, my only time back home in Texas are summer breaks and holidays. Through this, I finally am able to live my dream. Two reasons I am here today are because Of God and my supportive family that I love so very much.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The only struggles I could think of were missing one parent from time to time because it was either one was with me at a time, or both would be, but one would have to leave sooner due to other obligations; I missed our family time together.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an actress, which is mostly what I’m known for, but other than that, I am a writer, dancer, singer, and businesswoman.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the COVID-19 crisis?
To take advantage of the spare time that you have, to always have a backup plan, and cherish the time you have with people.
