Daily Inspiration: Meet Marion DuBose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marion DuBose. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Marion DuBose

Houston-born and raised musician Marion DuBose is a classically trained violinist who transitioned into the Hip Hop, R&B, and jazz sector with his famous electric violin. Marion’s musical background began when he was a little kid with his older sister, Marea Franklin, who introduced him to the art of violin and then took off from there.

Marion plays all genres of music and makes original sounds with the electric and acoustic violins. Marion plays at all events and studios around the world. He’s currently 25 years old and has been playing the violin for 14 years now. He took up the electric violin in high school and made his own music and covers after learning the basics from his sister.

After graduating from Baylor, he created his LLC, DBR Studios, as an entertainment production company and released his 1st album, “Colors,” which is out now on all streaming platforms!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When I was a kid in high school, I always was alone and was more to myself. I was raised basically as an only child since my siblings were 15 years older than me and out of the house by the time I started growing up. Personally, I never found happiness in school and in my personal life. This is what led me to open my mind more with music and playing the violin.

My album pays tribute to my hometown with the ominous dark streets and lonely upbringing to show the colors of the world and all that it gives with true passion from my heart. All my music comes from the expressions of my mind, and it tells a story about the life and drive of a black man in an isolated society.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Marion is an Electric and Acoustic Violinist who uses looper pedals and delay equipment for performances and can play alongside any DJ. He writes his own music, covers, and tracks. This gives him variety when playing all genres of music and letting his violin speak for itself.

Marion creates “easy listening” music for the average listener to be able to study and work to. His goal is to bring out the productive side of people through his musical vision and build an innovative culture of sounds through violin, piano, and many other key instruments. Marion loves to make people smile with his music and wants to change the world in a positive way through this passion!

I love watching informational videos on YouTube to further my knowledge for music and as an entrepreneur. Learning Music Business Law and going through courses at the Berklee College of Music is very helpful!
