Today we’d like to introduce you to Robyn Graham.
Robyn, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My career began in 1983 in the field of cosmetology. I worked at a hair salon while attending Pittsburgh Beauty Academy (PBA) to earn my license in cosmetology. Graduating at the top of my class with honors, I received scholarships to continue on at PBA to study cosmetology at a higher level. In 1986 I completed my Advanced Master Classes including Graduate Division of Advanced Hair Design with Redken Scientific School of Hair Study presented by PBA, Master Aesthetic Skin Care including Theory of Electrolysis, Professional & Theatrical Make Up. Demonstrating a mastery of cosmetology knowledge and skills.
I had purchased the salon I worked at and quickly expanded it into a full service salon, adding Electrolysis and Skin Care. After offering these services, I felt the need for more academics to gain additional knowledge for the Electrolysis services offered in my spa area. After returning to PBA’s Institute of Electrolysis, I successfully completed another Electrology Course graduating again with high academic honors.
After many satisfying years as a Salon/Spa owner, I left the ‘fun and creative’ side of Cosmetology and focused solely on Electrolysis and the biology surrounding the hair follicle. Electrolysis is a completely different treatment than Laser hair removal. People often confuse Electrolysis & Laser treatments. Electrolysis is still the only “Permanent Hair Removal” recognized by the FDA.
Recently with my move to Texas, I am using my skills as an Electrologist in my Cypress Spa located within the spas located at Blue Lion Cypress. The Cypress Blue Lion Spas include myself, HairBGone Electrolysis@Robyn’s Studio, Elixir Medical Aesthetics, Derma Unique, DeviLash Style and Threading by Saba. I love all my Spa Neighbors at Blue Lion Cypress. They are a great group of talented ladies.
I have four beautiful teenage children. I love animals and soccer. My other passion is sports photography and I have successfully fulfilled my goals within this creative field as well. I feel very blessed to have a new beginning in Texas.
My credentials:
Has obtained National Board Certification: 1989 & 1994
Pennsylvania State Board CO, CM: certified 1986 & 1990
Texas State Board CO: certified 2016
American Electrology Association
Pennsylvania Society of Electrologist
Texas Association of Professional Electrologist

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Life itself is never a smooth ride, if it were it would be very boring. There are many bumps in the road as we travel the pathway to success. Challenges come in many forms. Personal Challenges that I faced while building my business were, my sisters head injury, the birth of my twins and my move to Texas. Choosing how we react to any challenge will reflect in a positive or negative result. I always try to move in a positive direction. That itself is not always easy mentally or physically. With that said, the struggles I have experienced along my career journey have made me stronger which brings much success, confidence and strength to my business.
People measure success in different ways. I have always had a strong sense of faith in most everything I believe in. I feel very fortunate that I have always had great clients and family support. Each and every one of my clients through the years have made a positive effect on my life.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the HairBGone Electrolysis @Robyn’s Studio story. Tell us more about the business.
Electrolysis employs the use of a small filament inserted into a natural opening of the hair follicle. By sending a small, minute amount of current to this area, the follicle is disabled and can no longer generate hair. Technical application, with the use of a newer, computerized electrolysis machine called an epilator, is also a very important factor for the client seeking treatments. For best comfort level, results are directly related to skill and epilator.
With over 25 years of experience to offer, you will receive great results that come with my electrolysis experience. My equipment is top of the line technology, an Apilus Platinum Pure Electrolysis Epilator that distributes 27MHz high frequency for ultimate comfort.
“Does electrolysis really work?”
Still to this day, it is the only proven safe method of permanent hair removal that is FDA approved (Food and Drug Administration). No other form of hair removal has been developed to make this claim of permanency. The word most often used for other methods of hair removal is “hair reduction.” Think about that. If you want permanent, safe results, then electrolysis is your only choice.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck has many variables. Always taking opportunity of any luck that comes my way is a bonus. Dealing with bad luck that changes the long term business plan can be successful in its own way. It teaches us how to deal with adversity, contribute to the cause and to be humble for what we have instead of what we “don’t have”.
