Today we’d like to introduce you to Kasey Norton and Erin Foreman.
Kasey and Erin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
North Houston Moms is part of The Local Moms Network and is just one of more than 100 sites throughout the country. The Local Moms Network was started on the East Coast by Layla Lisiewski, a mom who was tired of searching for all the things all over the internet and wanted everything to be in one place.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting any kind of business can be tough, but luckily, moms tend to support moms. Our biggest challenge is wanting to reach even more moms through our newsletter, website, and social media. It’s a fine line of growing just to grow and growing an engaged audience. Luckily, we are very blessed to have an active and engaging audience!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Covering Conroe, Montgomery, Magnolia, and The Woodlands, NorthHoustonMoms.com is a hyper-local resource website and social media presence providing thousands of families in the area a one-stop-shop for events, recipes, interviews, small business profiles, and more. What’s nice about North Houston Moms – is everything is local. You aren’t going to see things for downtown Houston or other areas. Everything is right here and relevant.
The Local Moms Network’s motto is Giving Moms the Gift of Time, and that’s exactly what we are doing – doing the hard work of research, laying out the options in an easy-to-find way, and giving parents more time to enjoy family.

Big kudos to our founder, Layla; without her following through with filling a need, North Houston Moms wouldn’t be here. Of course, our followers are the next big thank you – we’re so thankful that they are looking to us for information week after week. Small businesses also deserve some credit; they continue to believe in what we are doing and enjoy partnering with us.
