Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Leti Hernandez.
Hi Laura, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Laura Leti Hernandez, and I am a bilingual realtor at Klaus Homes. I was born in Mexico, but I was brought to Houston and grew up here from a very young age. I come from a hardworking and very traditional family. My biggest influencer is my mom. She has overcome so many obstacles and always keeps on fighting and moving forward. Before my days as a realtor, I was a human resources manager for an international company and even served as the director of career services for a medical college. I’ve helped strategize and manage different aspects of the company. I have a business marketing degree from the University of Houston Downtown, where I was equipped with the knowledge of business processes, sales, digital marketing, research, and brand management. I am a negotiation strategist ready to help to obtain the best return on investment.
I try not to be the typical guide but also a partner and a negotiation strategist with a heart.
I understand how hard people can work to gain wealth and I how important it is to work on generational wealth. Real estate can be a tricky, but I follow my knowledge, research, and heart to share and help people make the best decisions.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As a realtor, you’re not just selling or purchasing a home; you’re educating your clients throughout the entire process, and every job comes with its set of struggles. It takes a team effort to get the job done. It’s not just about finding a home; it’s about building a team that can help make the buying or selling process as seamless as possible. That’s why it’s crucial to choose your team wisely, as someone else’s work can and will affect your job. It can be challenging to connect the right client to the right team, but it’s an essential part of the job. Every process is different, and you must be ready to adapt to any situation. Each client has their own unique set of needs and requirements, which means that a realtor must be flexible and adaptable.
Unfortunately, sometimes things don’t go as planned, and even the most experienced face setbacks. You must be ready to manage unexpected events that can affect your job. For example, my very first contract fell through due to an unfortunate event where my client passed away. It was an especially tough week for me as it coincided with the death of a close family member.
It was a week full of bad news, and it was challenging to put on a happy face when I wasn’t feeling it. However, as a professional, I knew that it was essential to show up and be there for my clients, even when I was dealing with personal hardships myself. That’s what I love about working with a great team. I know that my husband, who is also my broker is there to back me up.
It takes hard work, dedication, and a team effort to get the job done. While there will be obstacles along the way, it’s essential to stay positive, be authentic, adapt to any situation, and be there for your clients, no matter what hardships you are facing.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
Life is short and unpredictable, so make the most of your time and live with purpose. Set clear and achievable goals for yourself. Break down your lifelong aspirations into smaller, more manageable steps and create a schedule for yourself. This will help you hold yourself accountable for making progress. Remember, success is achieved through consistent effort and dedication.
Don’t let fear or doubt hold you back. Take risks, try new things, and learn from yours and other’s failures. It’s all part of the journey most importantly, so don’t forget to enjoy the moment and value the people and experiences that make you happy.
So, keep pushing forward, stay motivated, and live with purpose because that will give your life meaning and make the journey more worthwhile.
