Meet Paul Garcia

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Paul Garcia. Paul was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Franklin Warens.

Hi Paul, we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
My name is Paul Garcia, and I am proud to be one of the owners of Greenline Insurance Group. Insurance has been a part of my life for over 13 years, thanks to my family’s longstanding involvement in the industry. It all started when my father, Pablo Garcia, established a Farmers insurance agency in 2005. However, in late 2018, we decided to become fully independent, and that’s when our journey truly began to flourish.

During my time in the industry, I had the pleasure of meeting my wonderful wife, Dulce Morales, who also owned her own Farmers insurance agency. After having two children together, we made the decision to merge our operations, and it turned out to be the best choice we ever made. By combining the solid foundation my father had built with Dulce’s outstanding systems, processes, and determination, along with my own ambition, we experienced remarkable growth. We went from writing an average of 30-40 home insurance policies per month to consistently writing around 200 policies per month. This tremendous progress allowed us to establish a talented in-house team of 16 individuals.

For many years, I was content with where I was in life. However, as the saying goes, comfort can hinder growth. I vividly remember a fellow Farmers agent at the time telling me that they were writing over 100 home policies each month, and I couldn’t fathom how that was even possible. It was then that I realized I needed to expand my perspective and open my mind to new possibilities.

Please tell us more about your brand, Greenline Insurance Group
Over the years, we honed in on our niche in the insurance market. Understanding how mortgage brokers and realtors operate became crucial for us. We recognized their need for timely service and the fact that every new home buyer had unique requirements. With this knowledge in mind, we decided to focus our marketing efforts heavily towards mortgage brokers. Our strategy was simple: if we were closing 30 deals per month and receiving referrals from 5-6 mortgage brokers, then we needed to target 10-12 or even more to double our business. We attended countless events, creating a schedule dedicated solely to building relationships with mortgage brokers. Eventually, our efforts paid off, and our pipeline became flooded with leads. As a result, we expanded our in-house sales team to cater specifically to our referral partner business. The demand for insurance quotes skyrocketed. Being an independent brokerage allowed us the flexibility to offer a wide range of products, and we understood that insurance could sometimes make or break a deal. As we became established and made a name for ourselves in the industry, we started receiving referrals from new loan officers whom we had never even met. This was the moment we realized that our efforts had paid off – we were successfully creating a brand for ourselves.

So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Franklin Warens and Warens Financial Group and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Warens Financial Group.
In 2020, I had the opportunity to meet Franklin at a small marketing event, despite initially being reluctant to attend due to the long drive required. Surprisingly, this turned out to be a pivotal moment, as it led to the formation of an exceptional partnership and friendship. From the beginning, I could sense that Franklin was making a name for himself in the industry, having recently started his own venture. As someone in the insurance field, it’s not often that I come across potential home buyer leads directly. Each lead I receive requires careful consideration on where to send it, and in this case, I decided to send a promising lead to Franklin. This decision sparked the beginning of our partnership.

I vividly recall telling Dulce that I was going to meet Franklin for a discussion at what has now become our usually spot, the truck yard. Initially intended to be a brief meeting, it unexpectedly turned into a captivating conversation that lasted for six hours. Dulce was understandably puzzled by the amount of time I spent talking to someone I had just met. However, as Franklin shared his background of being from Cuba and his personal story, I couldn’t help but feel a strong connection. Interestingly, my mother was a Cuban refugee during the Castro era, so we had a lot in common, and our bond quickly formed.

Once we started doing business together, I witnessed firsthand Franklin’s incredible drive and ambition for growth. His team expanded rapidly, and their impressive numbers reflected their success. The numbers don’t lie. Our partnership was a natural fit, as Franklin’s team and their processes aligned closely with ours. From the pre-approval process to the closing table, there was a clear workflow and well-defined procedures that Franklin had meticulously established. His unwavering focus on ensuring a smooth process for every home buyer truly set him apart from others in the industry.

Importantly, Franklin’s clients became long-term clients for our insurance business. Retention is key in the insurance world, and we observed the loyalty, respect, and gratitude Franklin’s clients had towards his team. It was evident that they appreciated the efforts made by Franklin and his team when they had faced rejections from other mortgage brokers due to a lack of knowledge or advocacy for their borrowers. The way Franklin’s team treated each client like family and went above and beyond to help them secure a home was truly remarkable. On multiple occasions, we admired their transparency and willingness to collaborate to ensure a successful closing. In the insurance industry, we can sometimes offer policies with all the bells and whistles, but ultimately, there’s a specific number required to seal the deal. By understanding this from the beginning, it eliminated unnecessary back-and-forth, and our wide range of options allowed us to do everything possible to make it happen.

Franklin’s team has personally handled several loans for us, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their exceptional service. Over the years, our friendship has blossomed, and we’ve ventured into other industries together. Currently, we’re deeply involved in a multi-family project that we believe holds immense potential and a promising return on investment. Just like in any industry, I’m incredibly thankful for the friendships I’ve cultivated and the opportunities that have arisen from a simple meeting. I have no doubt that we will continue to strive for more together.
