Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Kelsey Knight.
Hi Dr. Knight, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born into a family of physicians in Brooklyn, NY, who inspired me to go into medicine at an early age. While some children read books such as Dr. Seuss, my bedroom was full of medical journals. From an early age, I started became interested in medical mysteries and making people feel better. With hard work and studying, my dream became a reality. Before I knew it, I was a practicing physician. I am currently Double Board-Certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity-Medicine. My passion is helping my patients reach their goals in becoming healthier. I have a Weight Loss practice where I offer monthly personalized weight loss programs.
Coming from a family of physicians, I was always aware of challenges those in healthcare face. There is a lot of hard work, continuous education, and long hours involved in taking care of patients. One has to learn to “expect-the-unexpected” at all times. Being a female physician provides one with an extra challenge. In a field that is dominated by men, we always need to prove ourselves a little more that we are not only intelligent but capable in providing exceptional care.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Board-Certified Internal Medicine physician that is focused on providing Weight Loss Care. I check labs to see if there is an organic cause of weight issues and I customize treatments for each of my patients. I track my patients progress with bi-weekly Body Composition Scanning using state-of-the-art technology. Not only does the Styku track the fat and inches lost but also provides a health risk assessment as well. When my patients reach their goals, I am here to provide support. So far, they have been doing amazing! It’s so rewarding to watch them become healthier and I’m grateful I get to be a part of their journeys!
I recommend to download MyFitnessPal which is an app for your phone. It is a nutrition-tracking app one can use to log food and exercise. One can also count calories on it as well.
