Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Rios.
Hi Alyssa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Born in San Diego, Cal, raised in Houston my whole life. My mother being a single parent gave my a lot of pressure to work as such a young age and find a way to fund my own supplies for school. As someone who clicked to having the talents
I started doing cover commissions for upcoming Houston artist, for example, The Ocassion, Audentia Dejesus, Friday canvas to becoming my own freelance artist doing jobs for @Weldworld, and few upcoming brands like “Go Getter. “
From artist to welder, and now both work together, I pursued welding and been in the industry for 5 years now. Sounds too easy, but it wasn’t; I started doing digital artwork for people back in middle school., back when I juggled working with my uncle to drawing on the side, I saved up enough money to put myself through high school and college,
As time had gone by, I had been recommended to be on here; I was young and new to the world, now I want to spread the word to everyone. I can make what they describe come to life,
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I can say I definitely smooth out the road with my knees; working so young and jumping from job to job for a few dollars difference was a big factor that lead me to learning to appreciate a lot of my value nowadays, I can say that I’ve lost paths with doing what I love plenty of times just to survive, I’ve had to put it to rest for quite some time, and it stayed there for a good amount, typically story, parents divorced, and I had to find. A way to stay up float with my brother and sister at my side,
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Freelance Graphic Designer and Overall Artist; I specialize in portraits both digitally and paper. Especially black and white.
My most proud moments was to be have a small exhibition a while back, and winning a lot of small prices within my high school program made me realize I got a good eye and hand for this,
The fact that I can do both metal art, digital and paper is what sets me apart from the rest; I put All sweat, tears, and worries to make sure everything comes out well.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I’d say that there’s plenty of ways to do art and design overall as long as there’s passion involved, and when that fear claws up your ankles, JUMP. Took me a long time to learn, and no matter at what age, you can still go for it if you quite deeply desire it.
