Yesenia C Acosta

Hi Yesenia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, my name is Yesenia C Acosta, and I am originally from Costa Rican.

I arrived in this country over 20 years ago to learn English, overcome the sudden death of my father due to a heart attack, and seek better economic conditions to support my mom and my younger sister, who had only 20% vision in one eye. With a lot of effort, I learned the language and the culture.

I worked in accounting and taxes for various companies. While I excelled in managing finances for others, I did not apply those principles to my finances despite holding a master’s in finance and Banking. Due to a car accident that nearly took my life, I incurred significant medical expenses. My debt amounted to $30,000, and I had no health insurance or emergency fund.

For this reason, I decided to invest my time in learning how the financial system in the United States works. It is here where my journey begins.

I am a financial professional dedicated to the progress and well-being of our beloved Latino community. I am a financial professional dedicated to the improvement and well-being of our beloved Latino community. I add value to their lives through financial knowledge because I firmly believe that every member of our community has the right not only to access this knowledge but to thrive through it.

In my career, I have worked with individuals and families, helping them make informed and strategic financial decisions. But my commitment does not stop there. I am here to build bridges, break down barriers, and ensure that every person, regardless of background, has access to equitable financial opportunities.

I understand that Latino communities often face unique challenges, but I also know that we are strong, resilient, and capable of overcoming any obstacle. My goal is to provide financial advice and financial education that empowers each individual to take control of their economic future.

From educational workshops to personalized counseling, I am committed to providing resources that strengthen the financial foundation of our community. I want every person to feel empowered to make informed decisions about investments, savings, and retirement planning.

Additionally, I am committed to building a support network. I believe in the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing within our community. Together, we can overcome any financial challenge and create a more prosperous future for all.

In summary, my mission goes beyond numbers and finances. It is about empowering each individual to reach their goals, building a stronger community, and leaving a legacy of prosperity for future generations.

Thank you for allowing me to serve you. I am here for you, for our community. Together, we will build a bright financial future for everyone.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being alone in a foreign country and not understanding the language, culture, and financial system was challenging.

Making serious financial mistakes with credit cards, believing it would help me build good credit, turned out to be the opposite. I had to learn to change my mindset to face the obstacles that arose along the way. I could no longer think the way I did in my home country.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Financial Professional and Financial Education.

I feel very proud to bring financial education to the Hispanic community because there is a great need due to the lack of financial knowledge. Being able to educate and change the mindset about money and leave a lasting legacy for future generations is fulfilling.
