Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhonda Bartlett.
Hi Rhonda, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
As you journey through life, there are key moments that help define who you are becoming. I was like any other individual, navigating through the twists and turns of life, unsure of where my path would lead. However, along the way, I discovered a passion for helping others and sharing knowledge.
It all began with a simple desire to make a positive impact. Whether it was lending a listening ear to friends in need or offering advice on academic or professional pursuits, I found joy in guiding others through their challenges. As I continued on this journey, I realized that mentoring was more than just offering assistance; it was about empowering individuals to reach their full potential.
Over time, my experiences and passion to help others grew. I sought the need to formalize my role as a mentor. I starting a community organization that focuses on providing education support for students. This provides not only a space for mentees but also a space for others to mentor.
The more you give, the more you receive; so, with each mentorship opportunity, I learned just as much as I taught. Every interaction presented a chance for personal growth and understanding. I honed my communication skills, cultivated empathy, and expanded my knowledge base to better support those I mentored. I became a certified life coach and certified mentor gaining skills and techniques to help me become better at what I love.
Today, I am proud to say that mentoring has become an integral part of who I am. Whether I’m guiding students through their academic journey, coaching professionals in their careers, or simply offering a word of encouragement to someone in need, I find fulfillment in helping others succeed. And as I continue on this path, I look forward to the countless lives I’ll touch and the stories of growth and achievement that will unfold along the way.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a mentor hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like any journey, it had its share of challenges. One struggle was learning to balance my own commitments as a wife, mother, and leader while still being available to support those I mentored. Finding the time and energy to give my best to each mentee while managing my own responsibilities required careful planning and prioritization.
Another challenge was navigating diverse personalities and needs. Each mentee brought unique experiences, goals, and communication styles to the table, requiring me to adapt my approach to best suit their individual needs. Building trust and rapport took time and effort. Some barriers are difficult to break through so looking for progress in the process is important. Additionally, I encountered moments of self-doubt, questioning whether I was truly making a meaningful impact or if I had the expertise to effectively mentor others. Overcoming these doubts required reflection, continuous learning, and seeking feedback from both mentees and fellow mentors.
Despite these challenges, the rewards of mentoring far outweighed the struggles. Witnessing the growth and success of those I mentored and knowing that I played a part in their journey made every obstacle worthwhile. Plus, the struggles taught me things I needed to know in order to continue to serve others.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Additionally, my commitment to ongoing learning and growth ensures that I can continue to evolve as a mentor and adapt my mentorship approach to meet the ever-changing needs of those I serve.
We’d love to hear about what you think about risk-taking.
I believe that risk-taking is an essential aspect of spiritual, personal, and professional growth. While some risks come with uncertainty, they often present valuable opportunities for learning that produces rewarding outcomes. Throughout my journey, I’ve encountered situations where taking risks was necessary to move forward or achieve a desired goal. One significant risk I took was transitioning into a new career path. This decision required me to step out of my comfort zone, overcome fears of failure and success, and embrace uncertainty. However, it ultimately led to greater fulfillment and success in my professional life.
Overall, my perspective on risk-taking is grounded in the belief that embracing uncertainty and stepping outside of one’s comfort zone can lead to spiritual, personal, and professional growth. It’s about making a decision to move into being courageous and out of being fearful and being open to the possibilities that come with taking calculated risks.
