Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Drexler.
Hi Adam, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I have been playing professional basketball player for 8 years. As I continued my career on the court, I began to wonder what I could accomplish in the entertainment industry off the court. I began this pursuit by appearing on Amazon Prime’s “The One That Got Away,” as well as venturing into musical production, modeling, and acting.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Hasn’t been a smooth road? If not, would there have been some of the struggles along the way?
When pursuing passions, we are always in a battle with adversity. There are many obstacles that you can face, but I’ve found that the most difficult obstacle to overcome is yourself. Nothing I do would have been possible without believing in what I do and the effort I give. Whether it be on or off the court, as I continue to build my brand and platform, I welcome all of the struggles, successes, and all of the other parts that make up the journey towards my goals.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Adam imbibed a spirit of drive and empathy from a young age. But it was his innate aptitude for both sports and music that set him apart from the crowd. Adam’s love for baseball could have kept him occupied, but he also had a gift for picking up musical instruments by ear. He channeled this passion into starting his own music production company, Outlandish, back in 2020.
Adam’s stellar basketball skills also got him drafted into the coveted “Big3” league in May of 2022 and earned him a spot in the hit reality show “The One That Got Away” the following month. But that’s not all – the multi-talented Adam has also found his footing as a sought-after fashion model, gracing runways and catalogs for top clothing brands.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I am a firm believer in always being a student. At no point in life will we ever have all the answers? Asking questions, seeking help and guidance from others, even if it may not directly pertain to what you are doing can always help to paint a bigger picture. But it’s all about being receptive to new ideas and opinions.
