Life & Work with CaLeigha Callahan and James Homan

Today we’d like to introduce you to CaLeigha Callahan and James Homan.

CaLeigha + James Callahan + Homan

Hi CaLeigha and James, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
We are both University of Houston graduates and athletes, which is where we met and our love story began. We were lucky to be afforded the blessings that came with NIL. Therefore, during the boredom of COVID lockdown, we started making funny, relatable skits highlighting our relationship.

TikTok was heating up, and CaLeigha decided to start posting content, eventually dragging me (James) into a trendy dance video. A couple days and 500,000 views later, our video was going “viral”. We don’t know if it was just luck, but we knew for sure it wasn’t skill. Nonetheless, we struck gold on the first swing. Initially, I wanted no part in social media, but after seeing the potential we had to build an uplifting community and make a positive impact on a stranger’s day, I couldn’t help but want to try. Together, we decided to give social media a true effort, and so far, it’s been everything we could’ve hoped for and MORE! In 2022, CaLeigha dropped out of her master’s program to pursue content creation full-time, and it was the best decision she ever made. Taking a risk like that was scary, but since then, we have had so many exciting opportunities, including working with some of our favorite brands such as Bath and Body Works, Caudalie, Lululemon, and Abercrombie & Fitch.

Most recently, we had the opportunity to go on a brand trip with Disney Fairytale Weddings and attend NYFW, having the opportunity to meet renowned designers such as SNOW XUE GAO.

We are excited for what the future holds!!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing was smooth. Social media, in general, is an uphill battle. We went from being full-time collegiate athletes to long-distance to finally being able to move into our house together. James still works full-time in his family’s business while he navigates full-time content creation with me. We have so many goals and aspirations in life and our main focus in life is always to put God first and face any battles that come along together.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
As mentioned before, James runs a family business based out of Houston, along with content creation, and CaLeigha does full-time content creation, handling a lot of the behind-the-scenes of our social channels. We pride ourselves in being relatable and sharing the ins and outs of our relationship on social media. We also recently started a podcast called Beyond the Feed. We are most proud of the growth that we have experienced over the years, not only on social media but in our own relationship and relationships with others. Hoping to put a smile on someone’s face and make a positive impact on their day. We believe that through sharing these experiences, we can hopefully impact one person in a positive way, showing them that they are not alone in any struggles they may be facing.

How do you define success?
We believe success is achieving your goals and aspirations, whether they’re related to career, personal growth, or happiness. It’s a subjective concept, varying for each person based on their values and priorities. Success can be about financial achievements, making a positive impact, or continuous improvement. Ultimately, it’s a personal definition that reflects what matters most to you.
