Life & Work with Kamryn Allen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kamryn Allen.

Kamryn Allen

Hi Kamryn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Kamryn Amya, a sister, best friend, certified yoga teacher, actress, petite fashion blogger, and a self-proclaimed comedian! I struggled with anxiety when I first moved out after high school and went to college, and the only thing that helped me was Holy Yoga… yoga at a church! Today, years later, I have my yoga certification with an emphasis and a passion for youth who may not have the resources to afford yoga classes and struggle with anxiety like me! I want to make yoga accessible to foster youth. I have been allowed to teach yoga to foster youth, to those with OCD, and to those who struggle with anxiety. I hope to create a safe space and allow others to feel the joy of connecting with themselves during yoga practice and allow every person to feel the love that I openly give to those I meet!

I know you are probably thinking this is a tall task, all of my hobbies…. well, yes, it is a tall task, and at 4 feet and 9-10 inches, my height has made me unique. I often found it difficult to find a place in a world that felt so petite. Thankfully, I found commercial acting, allowing me to embrace my height!

Blogging has also allowed me to connect with creators who embrace their uniqueness. My Instagram offers a creative space for me to share Houston recommendations, new food spots and for me to be authentically myself.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
After yoga one day in 2019 I remember going to catholic mass with a friend and suddenly I could not hear or see. The next thing I know I am out, and I have fainted in the church! I thought I’d caught the holy spirit, but I fainted. This would be the first of many times. My friend was so scared. “Kam! Are you okay?” The priest walks by and I am in the back of the church with the Holy water.

It would take over 4 years for a doctor to find out why I would faint randomly, have extreme fatigue, and have scattered memory (brain fog). I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder in 2023. The fainting and fatigue finally made sense.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a certified yoga teacher, actress, petite blogger and I work in the medical field in the corporate world!

As a certified yoga teacher, I’ve worked with a variety of clients. I’ve worked inpatient with patients who struggle with mental health issues including ADHD, OCD, anxiety and depression. I’ve also worked with foster youth who don’t have access to yoga studios. I also teach at a studio and create creative flows for evening yoga classes! Some of the fun classes I’ve done include vision board yoga workshops, yoga book club, yoga and small businesses and many others!

As an actress, I submit auditions weekly and work with my lovely agents! At the time, I am represented by Page Parkes Talent in TX and Luxe Talent Agency in LA! Acting has given me the opportunity to let my creative juices flow after I finish the day with my corporate job!

As a blogger, I post positive content! The goal is to make everyone feel like my best friend and to let people know that they have a virtual friend! I create fun, bright content that should give you the feeling of serotonin and encourage you to explore the world! I’ve traveled to many places and posted about it! One of the coolest places I’ve been in Greece. My Insta friends loved watching me explore out of Texas. If you’re looking for encouragement on Instagram with a smile, I’d recommend you connect with me on Instagram and message me! Kamryn.Amya

I also work a corporate job during the day with an amazing team! I work in the healthcare industry which allows me to care for patients and let them know that they have someone on their side helping them during a difficult time! I love connecting and meeting new patients because it allows me to give back to those who need it most!

I wear many hats, but each mean the world to me!

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
A few things I have learned is to always chase your passion; money will come when you follow what sets your soul on fire. Next, always be kind, especially to the un-kind. The unkind are the ones who need the most kindness, but they have been so hurt by the world that they refuse to let their guard down.

Third, your life gets ten times better when you dance and do it without fear of judgment. I used to sit in my stress, but now I dance it out. When you are stressed, go for a walk or dance it out. It is amazing how moving your body can let your body know that everything will be okay.
