Today we’d like to introduce you to Juan Carlos Rodriguez.
Hi Juan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am originally from Venezuela, and I came to the US in 2004 when my wife was working for an Oil & Gas Corporation. We were able to apply for residency, which allowed us to start working; this process took two years. Once I got the Green Card, it opened the doors to starting my American Dream. I Always admired and respected this Country, and I wanted to carry the American Flag in my Heart. Few years later, I became a proud American Citizen. Having a construction background, I was able to find a great opportunity in a construction company, which opened the door to a lot of knowledge. I was a drafter and designer in such a company, as well as a field supervisor.
Later on, I was hired by a construction group in Houston, we became partners and stablished a Swimming Pool Company which presented a new opportunity and new horizon in my career.
Three years down the road we decide to split, my partners stayed with the Residential Contruction (Original theirs), and I kept the Swimming pool company leading to the actual Company called Dream Property Works.
We have oriented the company to a very specific target, our production is limited and very selective in order to comply with the needs of our clients. We cater our clients; we are always just one phone call away with an immediate response and action to attend their needs.
Swimming pools are a large investment and addition the client’s property, so we need to be oriented a 100% to client satisfaction, and that is my Flag. I continue contacting my clients from years ago to make sure our product stands its quality and is a constant effort to give the Pool Industry a good name.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Every Business has its challenges, labor, cost of goods, economic environment, and new rules and regulations, but these are the elements that make us stronger. I strongly believe that building and great team and maintain a long relationship with them is the secret. Treating people with respect, appreciate their efforts and accomplishments is very rewarding for all, like a professional golfer… accomplish the perfect swing and be able to reproduce it over and over to get the best score. Your Cady is your eyes, your senses, your backup…
City implement rules and regulation in order to protect the consumer in most cases, other times the Red Tape could mean project cost increases, time consuming and frustration for the clients. We must be persistent and accomplish the requirements to maintain our industry in good stands!

The Company is basically a one man show, Client Contact: I personally make visits to clients for information, feedbacks, and wish list to accomplish their dream backyard project.
Design: I do all the designs presenting the client with 3D renderings of the project in their own backyard environment. All technical drawings and premating process is done by me. This allows me a complete knowledge of each project and details.
Construction: I personally supervise every step of the process to ensure that all the specs comply with the client’s wish list.
Inspections: I attend to every required inspection to obtain an immediate feedback from the inspectors, this allows me to reply sooner and more efficient to changes or corrections made on site.
Contractors: I constantly maintain communication with contractors and follow up on every step of the process.
Equipment, training, and technical support to clients: I personally give the pool school, which embraces everything that it’s needed to know to operate the pool and peripheral items.
The objective to attend personally to all these steps is to openly share with my clients the construction process that way they feel comfortable and enthusiastic about the results.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
The fact that I have had the chance to meet so many people in my business allows to broaden my understanding and knowledge of people. The daily input I receive from each individual I get in touch with make me more sensitive to human needs and understanding, allowing me to freely walk through many paths. Humans are an encyclopedia of knowledge, and I am thirsty to learn in order to be able to give back to them in the best manner. The spiritual richness is accomplish through giving back to others and be able to thank God every day for such incredible opportunities.
