Check Out Tianna Williams’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tianna Williams.

Tianna Williams

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into modeling began unexpectedly while working at a mall boutique in 2020, where I met my first modeling agency manager. This encounter sparked a transformative shift in my life. Initially uncertain about the world of modeling, I took the chance, eager to explore the fashion industry and discover where my passion lay. Despite trying to manage my anxiety and shyness, the challenges of modeling pushed me out of my comfort zone, teaching me skills like mastering runway walks and building connections with photographers and designers. As I achieved milestones such as gracing my first magazine cover and strutting the runways of New York Fashion Week, my passion to learn more intensified.

In October 2021, following Texas Fashion Week, I faced another pivotal moment: joining a new modeling agency. Though daunting, this leap opened doors to unforeseen opportunities, including venturing into acting. From landing my debut commercial to scoring a prominent billboard feature and clinching the title of Actor of the Year at the Dallas Model and Talent Expo, each triumph fueled my journey of personal development.

My path has been one of continual learning and self-discovery, culminating in the creation of my e-book, “BEYOND THE POSE: A Beginner’s Guide to Modeling.” Through its pages, I share firsthand experiences and offer tailored advice for aspiring models navigating their careers. Rooted in authenticity, my brand sheds light on often overlooked facets of the fashion industry, notably advocating for mental health awareness. Within the book, I emphasize the importance of one’s mental well-being amongst the frenetic pace of the fashion world.

While I continue to navigate the dynamic landscape of this industry, my passion remains unwavering, and I am devoted in my commitment to authenticity and growth.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entering the fashion industry is tough, as is any path in the arts. Personally, I’ve encountered numerous struggles, both external and internal. Being a non-traditional model and not fitting the stereotype of being tall and skinny while also being multicultural presents its own set of challenges. I hold myself to high standards, often overly critical of my progress and accomplishments. My greatest battle, however, lies in managing my mental health. The constant demands of maintaining a social media presence, fulfilling work commitments, and upholding appearances can be overwhelming. Sometimes, I must step back from the hustle to recharge and remind myself that it’s okay to stumble and take a breather. The industry’s competitive nature can be toxic, but focusing on mental well-being and craft development remains crucial. I advocate for self-care and resilience, not only for myself but for others navigating similar challenges.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m particularly proud of my recent e-book, “BEYOND THE POSE: A Beginner’s Guide to Modeling.” It’s a project close to my heart, crafted from my own experiences to offer valuable insights to aspiring models. This book fills a gap I wished had existed when I started out, providing guidance on navigating the modeling world. Unlike typical guides, I don’t dictate what readers should do; instead, I share personal tips and advice, covering topics like modeling types, casting preparations, and overcoming industry challenges. It’s meant to be a resource that people can revisit whenever needed. Available on Amazon and Kindle, it’s been well-received by those seeking guidance in their modeling journey.
