Hi J, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, everyone. I’m Jamie, but I go by JLE, and I’m excited to share my entrepreneurial journey with you.
My story began with savings, a vision, a passion for helping others, and a desire to make a difference. Before pursing on this path, I worked at a dental office. Despite parental expectations for me to pursue a traditional career in medicine, I knew deep down that I wanted to chart my own course.
After graduating, I took some time to reflect on my aspirations. While working in reception and promoted to a managerial role, I realized that dentistry wasn’t my calling. Seeking clarity, I took a transformative trip that inspired me to pursue my true passion since being a kid, which is becoming an entrepreneur & having a love for beauty.
Upon returning, I experienced my first facial, which instilled in me a newfound confidence and self-assuredness. It was a turning point—I knew I wanted to help others feel just as empowered in their own skin.
Driven by this passion, I made a bold decision to leave my job without notice and enroll in aesthetician school. Despite facing many, many, many hardships, I felt a deep sense of alignment with my chosen path.
As I approached the end of my schooling, I discovered a studio space and launched my business in December 2019. The initial months were filled with excitement and purpose. By focusing on my mission and aligning with my true calling, success naturally followed.
Despite the fears and doubts I initially harbored, my belief in myself grew stronger with each passing day. My first year in business was rewarding, with the first three months being particularly amazing. I was very driven to keep seeing how much better can this get, how can I keep progressing, evolving & keep growing.
For me, success is not just about profits—it’s about staying true to my purpose and passion. When you align with your true calling, everything else falls into place.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Has the journey been smooth? Absolutely not. What struggles have I faced along the way? There have been rough patches—slow weeks or months, issues with boundaries leading to burnout & of course, having doubts when those challenges arrive.
It’s important to remember the difference between motivation and consistency.
Motivation may fade, but consistency means showing up every day, even if it’s not at 100%. As well, if you aren’t working IN your business during slow weeks/months, work ON your business instead.
– Stick to your core values even during difficult times. It won’t always be easy, but staying true to your principles will ultimately lead to great success.

Don’t be afraid or shy away from failure or challenges; instead, embrace them as an opportunity to learn, adapt, and evolve. Every experience, no matter how tough, holds valuable lessons for success & character development.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is defined differently by each person. For me, success means living life fully while loving what I do and having the freedom and control to shape my own schedule my life, my daily routines, and habits. To maximize my full potential & to know I’m doing the best I can every day and improving. Being able to always be a student, learn, obtain the knowledge and pass it on, leaving others better than I found them. It’s about using the blessings I’ve received from God to help others and support my family. This is what true success means to me.
