Today we’d like to introduce you to Latasha Ingram.
Hi Latasha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Latasha Ingram, the proud owner of Tasha’s Baked Goods. Tasha’s Baked Goods LLC was started with me just simply baking for family and friends for fun. It wasn’t until an aunt mentioned that I should take what I love to do and turn it into a business. Let’s just say I’m forever grateful that I took my aunt’s advice and stepped out on Faith to start the business!
Hard work and dedication have gotten me to today! Has it been easy? Most definitely not… I’ve had my share of moments when I felted like giving up, yet my sheer willingness to succeed has brought me great success! This year makes 10 years Tasha’s Baked Goods has been in business!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Tasha’s Baked Goods has not had a smooth road, there’s been times when I questioned my ability to facilitate all the aspects with running a business. I found myself constantly questioning whether should I even remain in business. I’ve dealt with the deaths of my mom and grandmothers, my niece, and career changes. In all honesty, it was moments when I second-guessed my craft and wondered was I good enough to keep going.
One of my main struggles were time. Throughout the years, I’ve attained two degrees, a career change, and taking on other responsibilities that I couldn’t bake as much, so business was put on hold for a while. But had it not been for the struggles, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today in business!
We’ve been impressed with Tasha’s Baked Goods LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Tasha’s Baked Goods LLC is an at-home baking business that has officially been in business for ten years! I’m a baker that adores anything that allows me to maximize my potential in the kitchen to create some delicious baked goodies! I’m known for doing wedding cakes, quinceanera cakes, birthday cakes, and baked treats such as cookies, banana pudding jars, mini bundt cakes, cupcakes, and cobblers. I do it all!
I often reflect of a time when I didn’t want to do wedding cakes and was apprehensive to the thought of taking on a such a big task, yet one of my sisters basically told me I was going to bake wedding cakes! I’m certainly glad I listened, now wedding cakes are one of my favorite business ventures.
I think what sets me apart from others is simply the way I really value my customers! I’m forever grateful that they allow me to be a part of such memorable moments in their lives by having Tasha’s Baked Goods bake for them. Most or maybe even all of my customers have came from being referred or tasting something I baked for an event. I pride myself on running a business that shows how much love I put into baking.
One of the things I’m most proud of is my kids’ baking classes. It has always been a dream of mine to fulfill, and now I’ve hosted three so far and more are coming the summer. It’s pure happiness to teach my craft to the future little bakers.
Any big plans?
As for now, my future plans are to one day open a storefront or a dessert truck… Eventually, I plan on having a full-on kid baking academy and an adult baking academy. I would love if I could go into schools and offer baking classes and other techniques to enhance and encourage children who would want to learn the craft of baking.
