Meet Jimmy Of The Saints of Jimmy Of The Saints

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jimmy Of The Saints.

Jimmy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve been doing music all my life, reading music, being in the school choir and learning guitar at a young age, but since the 7th grade, I started to take it more seriously, writing, producing, performing, and engineering my own music. Throughout high school, I strived to perfect my lyricism, imagery, and storytelling through music, making sure my audience feels and sees what I’m trying to put out there.

Late night hours of research during the summers when music was all I could do, I developed a strong work ethic to finish whatever I had started for that day on music, and learned a lot about the deeper parts of music, like production and music techniques, the way my voice sounds, the power and drive I’m able to provide in my voice as an artist, and the way lyrics are composed. Now here I am, a 20 year young sophomore in college studying music, with 2 full projects and a few singles out at the moment on iTunes, and all other major music streaming services.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s never really a smooth road, especially if you’re wanting to be successful. I’ve encountered many downfalls, almost to the point where I almost quit, but I never actually gave up. It was just always in me to keep going with music, regardless of any circumstances. In middle school and high school, I was often teased about my music, my name, how my voice sounded and how I appeared.

After 2 years of going by my old name, I started going by “Jimmy Of The Saints.” it was my real name, just translated into English from Spanish and it was also unique. From there I just grew a thicker skin and decided I shouldn’t care what people think about me or my music, and keep doing what made me happy in life regardless of people’s negativity towards me.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Jimmy Of The Saints story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m definitely a man of many ideas and making those come to life slowly but surely. Such as clothing, art, film, design, and music, but I’m mostly known for music and currently, that is the main focus. I go by the name of Jimmy Of The Saints, and I have a group that I’ve been forming for a while now called “Blessed Co.”, that is also a clothing line and future label that I plan to develop.

My name as itself is a standout but I do feel my music sets me apart from others for sure. Nowadays we hear so much of the same music from everybody, that it just seems, no one likes telling stories anymore in their songs and making a meaning with it. Even when I do turn up songs, I still include punch lines and try to make it as logical as possible to the listener, and also make them think deeper with titles and cover art.

I’m most proud of the sound I put off and the quality of my music, I always make sure to play my music 7 times before I put it out and make adjustments to perfect my sound. I listen in different car stereos, earbuds, over-ear headphones, small computer speakers, studio monitors, and any other different audio devices that’s used to put out sound, to make sure that my music comes off the best everywhere possible.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
It’s lead to me the spot I’m in currently, for better or worse. Luck has landed me where I need to be, whether it was good or bad. It’s what meant to be, and I feel things always work out for the ultimate benefit of each other.
