Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Davis
Hi Tara , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
It all began with my mom opening a wellness spa in the Cypress area. While working at the spa to help my mom, it became apparent that the spa needed social media content in order to create a following and bring in customers/revenue. In the process of creating content for the spa I discovered that I not only enjoyed doing so but was really good at it. From there I began to create my own personal content and eventually commenced creating content for others and their endeavors which lead to the start-up of my own company S.O.A.H. The S.O.A.H company primarily focuses on helping creatives with their visions through social media content and beyond.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
If there is a smooth road the entrepreneur GPS has definitely taken me on a detour. With being a full-time mom, wife and content creator its difficult at times to stay on top of S.O.A.H priorities. Time is said to be fleeting and it’s hard to distribute it between wife/mommy duties and my S.O.A.H to do list. On top of that, I struggle with the fear of success…I know that I’m great at what I do, or so I’ve told but most times I tiptoe around the thought of taking the company to the next level because I fear that I won’t be good enough or have adequate resources to accomplish larger goals. I also deal with imposter syndrome, a lot of times its difficult for me to really believe that I actually am great at what I do and have the ability to separate myself from others and accomplish goals. I would be lying if I said witnessing other content creator’s success didn’t cause me to question my own talent and success like, should I really be doing this. It’s something that I have to dismiss constantly and I’m not successful at it all the time. I’ve had a few struggles along the way but try my best to work through it all and keep going.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in showing business owners/content creators that social media can turn followers into customers as well as guiding them along their journey concerning creating content themselves. I teach that social media should be easy, and everything can be content. I’m mostly proud of simply starting. Creating a website and starting an Instagram business page was a major step for me. I was so afraid to put myself out there, but I succeeded in doing so and I’m grateful regarding taking the leap. What sets me apart is authenticity, I stay true to myself, and the ability/creativity God gifted me with.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice would be to just start. Don’t worry about the likes and shares, just focus on your goal and keep showing up for yourself. Write down your goals with pen and paper and hang it up. When my list of goals stare me in the face I use it for motivation.
