Hi Myles, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up speaking in the Baptist Church. My entire life I have been known as a talker and a great advice giver to friends. People dubbed me an “old soul” at an early age because I spoke like I had lived life before. I was a National Speakers champion in High School when I gave debate a try my Senior year. Throughout my life God has constantly shown me that my greatest talent is my ability to influence people with my words both spoken & written. At the end of my senior year of college at Fisk University I felt a calling on my life that went beyond the amazing job offer I was walking in to post graduation. The Lord told me to utilize my greatest talent, my voice, to change peoples minds in order to change peoples lives. Thus Myles The Millennial was born . I have spent the last 4 years posting thousands of pieces of advice content on social media, speaking across the country to teenagers & young adults, & publishing an Amazon best selling book. Now that I am back home in Houston I feel reinvigorated to become the most impactful speaker for high schoolers & college students that the world has ever known.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No it has not been a smooth road. 2022 was a peak year where I saw growth in every aspect of my life. My speaking career was beginning to take off and I started to feel undeserving. A significant battle with imposter syndrome was taking place in 2023 as I felt like I just was not as good as other people told me I was. This caused me to deal with anxiety & mild depression for the first time in my life. It got to the point where I was no longer able to perform at my corporate job the way I previously had due to an over whelming anxiety that paralyzed my productivity. I knew I was not living out my purpose and this prevented from progressing in every area of my life. 2023 was a hard year and ultimately I came to the decision I needed to walk away from the comfort of my job and go full force into my purpose. I began speaking full time in 2024
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a motivational speaker & best selling author who specializes in impacting the lives of the youth & young adults. I have had a plethora of viral videos on social media and have grossed multiple millions of views across many platforms. My motto of “Change Your Mind, Change Your Life” has been turned into a best selling book that has sold thousands of copies nation wide and has become a guide to teenagers & young adults trying to find their way through the world. I am only 26 and me being within 10 years to most of the audiences I speak with allows me to connect with the youth & young adults in ways that many other speakers can’t. When they see me they see a version of themselves in the near future. When they see me they see someone who understands their struggles & can speak their language. When they see me they see a big brother they can trust instead of an authoritative figure they despise. My presentations and books have not only increased the mental abilities of those who I have impacted, but also increased their productivity in school, driven higher standardized test scores, & raised attendance rates. My messages create both tangible & intangible impact.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I give God all the praise & glory. He has looked out for me in ways I couldn’t even imagine and has pulled me through some of my darkest times. God has opened doors when others closed & I trust him fully with my path going forward. My parents have been the biggest influencers on my life. They have created an environment from the time I was young that has allowed me to express my talents in different ways and always encouraged me to continue to cultivate my skill with speaking. My girlfriend has been along for the ride since the very beginning and has been a confidant as well as an additional eye on all my projects. All of my friends & social media followers have been extremely encouraging and remind me consistency the impact I am having on their lives & the world at large. Ultimately God is the reason all of these people exist and are in my life. I give him all the praise.
