Hi Norman, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up in Hamden, Connecticut, I had a deep passion for music and singing. However, in 2019, the onset of COVID-19 coincided with the manifestation of a hereditary oral disease, disrupting my life in a profound way. The condition led to daily pain, disfigurement, and tooth loss, making it impossible for me to sing, which was devastating. However, during this challenging time, I discovered a new talent for writing.
Recognizing my daughter’s struggles with self-esteem, particularly relating to her natural curly hair and the negative comments she faced, I decided to write a book of positive poems and affirmations for her. This book, titled “The Colors of Rayne” and “Little Brown Kings,” aimed to empower not only my daughter but also other children facing similar challenges. To my joy, the books have reached a wide audience and have positively impacted many kids.
Following a miraculous turn of events, I received the financial support needed to obtain dental implants, putting an end to my pain and embarrassment. This has opened up new opportunities for me, and I am now preparing to re-enter the world of music and share my creative gifts with others. I have new books and music projects in the works, and I am eager to see where this new chapter in my life will take me.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey to where I am today has been quite challenging and continues to have its struggles. In the music industry, staying relevant requires constant visibility, and it’s tricky to keep up with evolving styles and changing listener preferences. However, I’ve been fortunate to have an incredibly strong support system that has helped me navigate these obstacles. I’m also very excited about some powerful new songs that offer a glimpse into my real-life experiences. These songs are deeply personal and speak to the joys and challenges I’ve faced. By sharing my own struggles and triumphs, I hope to connect with others who may be going through similar experiences, letting them know that they are not alone.

Throughout my life, I have honed my exceptional singing abilities, which I consider to be my innate talent. In addition to my passion for singing, I have dedicated myself to developing an array of skills and talents that have propelled me to success in various professional avenues. As a natural leader, I possess exceptional organizational and planning capabilities. My expertise extends to fields such as associate development and training, where I have made substantial contributions. I have also played a pivotal role in devising effective business plans and growth strategies for operational company success. Despite these accomplishments, singing remains my true calling and area of specialization.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am quite introverted by nature, which can be surprising to many people who have seen me perform on stage or interact with others in personal settings. Prior to stepping onto the stage, I experience an intense rush of nerves, causing my heart to race and my mind to go blank, making it easy to forget the lyrics. However, after a brief moment, as I immerse myself in the music, I gradually begin to feel more at ease, allowing some of those nerves to dissipate. While singing feels more natural to me, the thought of speaking to audiences often makes me hesitant. Despite this, I push myself to overcome these challenges because I understand the significance of forming connections with people, something I am genuinely passionate about.
