Today we’d like to introduce you to Johanna Perez
Hi Johanna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
When I look back at my life, I realize that in a way I was always preparing for this season. I’ve always been creative and crafty, and even owned a custom cake business named Sugar Dose by Johanna, that came to an end in 2020 due to the pandemic. In 2018, we even came close to purchasing a property with the intention of opening a venue, but that didn’t come to be.
I left the idea of owning a venue on the back burner, and wasn’t actively looking to pursue it anymore. but in the Summer of 2022, the opportunity presented itself, and that September, Dolce Villa Events came to be.
I’m a firm believer that God’s timing and plans for me are perfect, and God sent me this opportunity when I needed it the most. Unfortunately, my dad had passed away earlier that May, and Dolce Villa Events has been such a great part in my healing through the mourning. I’m able to use my love of creativity and craftiness to use, by serving others in helping them create the best memories of one the most important days of their lives.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Coming into the venue business has been a challenge at times, but I can honestly say, the it’s been smooth for the most part. I didn’t have full knowledge of what it took to run this type of business, but by the grace of God, I’ve been able to catch on fast. I’ve also been blessed with a great team of employees and vendors who are just as passionate as I am, and are each great in their own arena, so they have made the transition smooth for me.

As we’re approaching our 2 year anniversary, I am very happy for the growth we’ve had, and for what the future holds. I’m excited to meet and touch many more people’s lives, and to hopefully be a part of our past guests celebrations.
