More than 2,000 foodies, fashionistas, cultural enthusiasts gathered at Midtown Park for the 3rd edition of Le Dîner en Blanc – Houston on Saturday, November 18.
Once again, this year’s edition gave Houstonians a chance to exhibit their fashion sense, showcase their classy taste for design and elegance and share their gastronomic delights. World-renown for its photogenic moments, Saturday’s Dîner en Blanc was no exception. Guests were treated to live entertainment throughout the evening provided by DJ Donte Shepard, violinist Richmond Punch, Houston-based singer-songwriter Natalia Roxanne and drummer/percussionists Sean Torres and Darius Hutson.
Created in Paris nearly 30 years ago, this global phenomenon has taken over nearly 80 cities around the world such as New Orleans, New York, Miami, Sydney, Los Angeles, Singapore, Mexico City, Johannesburg, Montreal, Tokyo, and Abidjan.
The Spears Group, an award-winning strategic communications, experiential marketing, and creative firm, hosts the elegant event in Houston and New Orleans every year.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Houston has been a great city to build this event in. While we were not involved year one, we took over halfway through year two at the request of the Diner en Blanc International organization, given our success record with the event in both New Orleans and Atlanta.
Since then, we have gotten to know our audience and have been met with nothing but welcoming sentiments and excitement as we build this brand. Houstonians have an appetite for special events and occasions; a reason to celebrate is an opportunity for the best of the best to come out and have a great time in their city.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Some of my most memorable childhood memories are of visiting the many museums, theaters, and parks that the Houston Fine Arts scene has to offer.
Whether a field trip to the Natural Science Museum, specifically the gem exhibit, going to Nutcracker ballet every year with my mom and grandmother or spending a warm weekend at Miller Outdoor Theater, Houston Fine Arts have shaped me as a person and taught me a lot about how to enjoy my free time.
