Meet Gina Vargas of Katy Texas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Vargas

Hi Gina, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Dears readers, It seems ironic, but the world of beauty came to me, in the most difficult moments of my life, migration, is a notorious and public fact, the political and economic crisis that my country Venezuela is going through, in which I am a lawyer with a Master’s degree in labor law, when I decided with my family to immigrate, for political matters, I left with a suitcase full of illusions, and above all to work as a lawyer, which did not have. I felt so frustrated by it, and that’s where beauty and makeup came into my life, to give it color and joy, I thank God for it. I am already 9 years old in this beauty profession, and just as beauty helped me to reunite, I decided to do the same with all the Beautiful Ladies, because Makeup is more than applying a lipstick, it is an emotional need that every woman should have and feel.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The lack of confidence and credibility in my work of certain people were obstacles that made me doubt, but I overcame it with perseverance and self-confidence. In the same way, I often suffered from discrimination because of my nationality, but I did not allow this circumstance to affect me, I always trusted God, and on being focused to move my family forward.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have focused on makeup, especially for Brides, quinceañeras, graduations, social events, and photography. I think the essential thing in any service is how you treat your client, and how you connect with him, and that is what has distinguished and differentiated me from other professionals. My great pride is the fact of feeling and seeing the happiness that my clients feel to be satisfied with my work, it is an unequal and inexplicable feeling.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
When you have children, family and people who depend on you, it is difficult to decide to leave a job, with a fixed salary, for a personal venture, because what worries you most is that your family does not go through economic difficulties, let alone leave your status quo. But, it’s a matter of faith and believing in yourself, just as you want to help move someone else’s company forward, you must feel that same desire, and even more, to boost your own company.
