Life & Work with Natasha Thompson

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Thompson.

Natasha Thompson

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey begins in the early 90s. My 8th grade year I was challenged by my literature teacher to write a short story for a class project. I didnt know I had the talent to write a non fictional story but my teacher was inspired by my love for poetry so she encouraged me.

I can remember, even to this day, the title and content of my story. It was called Miracles Do Happen. It was about a young girl who had gotten into an accident with friends and was not supposed to live, but through the prayers and love of her mother, she survived!

Little to my knowledge, my teacher submitted my writing to Vanderbilt University’s literature challenge program and surprised me with the results! I freaking won; I won something I didn’t intentionally participate in! That gave me so much confidence, and from that day, I declared I would be a worldwide author!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life has definitely thrown me challenges. I conceived my son at age 19, and for someone growing up in a community, I didn’t have alot of support to accomplish my goals. I put everything on hold to work a 9 to 5 to provide the best way I could! I was diagnosed with hemolytic anemia and Lupus at the age of 15.

I was given a second chance of life after receiving a bone marrow transplant in which I was my own donor. Even though I struggled to find my path I always believed that “When obstacles arise, you change your direction to reach your goal, you do not change your decision to get there.”

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. What can you tell our readers who might not be as familiar with your work?
I’m a creative Literary Agent and designer. I assist others in capturing their important interests and moments in life through memoirs, journals, and self-published books. I am also a self published author myself.

So maybe we end by discussing what matters most to you and why.
Growth matters to me. How can what I’ve grown and gone through help someone else’s plight in life?

Soul growth is the true measure of how far we travel in a year… So even if progress seems slow, trust in the process… Because the process leads us into enlightenment and ascension of a high vibration.
