Today we’d like to introduce you to Evelyn L Hayden
Hi Evelyn L, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Well, I’ve always had a heart for people as I’ve been in health-care all my life and have advocated for many of my previous patients while in the Nursing field. Although I knew I wanted to do more, I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to do until my mother got sick and I had to PAUSE on life. Things had gotten so challenging that I had to quit my job, to help her, take to doctor appointments, diagnostic tastings, chemotherapy, nausea and vomiting, lose of appetite, hair loss, cooking, cleaning, etc. At that time, being a single parent with 2 small kids and going though a divorce was alot to handle. Watching her go through what she went through was such a challenge. Her, being a CANCER patient, would be in so much pain and would ALWAYS ask me to rub her back and her shoulders and it seemed that gave her so much relief. Then one day I thought about doing an internet search and I was so amazed on the number of benefits that Massage Therapy offered. So I began to search on further to find out the different areas that this Profession can take you to whether it be working with owning a Medical Office Practice, working with Chiropractors, Owning a Spa, Traveling, Working on a Cruise Ship, Bed & Breakfast, Community Events, Church and Family Functions and so much more. Fast forward, years later my mother passed away so I decided to pursue it. This has not been an easy journey but I have learned that when you have an opportunity to wake up each day with your Health and Closed in your right mind, is another opportunity to PUSH towards your dreams, your goals, your future, to be so much better that the person you were the day before. Each day God gives us new Grace and Mercy and that’s how Graceful Therapy came about because if our Heavenly Father can show us His grace, it is OUR responsibility to continue to show each other grace, each and every day. And that’s what life is about: SERVING EACH OTHER. We’re always looking for SPONSORS to help our COMMUNITY. I never would have thought that I would be where I am TODAY, a year ago, even 6months ago, but I have given so much back to the community because I know when you have a Passion to Help people it just comes NATURALLY for you. Sometimes, you don’t worry about the cost–just do it. I’ve Volunteered on numerous occasions. Sometimes I just randomly set up in the park on an early Saturday morning and OFFER massages to people who are on a morning walk or exercise routine. I’ve raffled off a lot of our services, just for people to get that experience and understand the benefits of SELF-CARE. I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many people and listen to so many stories because there’s a lot of hurting people out here. We were never given a handbook in school on how to survive in this cruel, hateful, and mean world. This WORLD will eat you up, if you allow it. We’re all trying to figure this journey called LIFE out together because everyone is going through something. We may not be going through the same thing but we’re all dealing with SOMETHING. So why not just SPREAD LOVE because we all need it and GOD is LOVE.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No. Life has not been easy. As long as we’re living, we’re going to encounter challenging times but we have to know WHO we are and WHOSE we are. And when we understand that, we begin to understand our PURPOSE to Overcome and Conquer anything that we face in our LIVES. Understanding that we ALL have seasons in our lives. Just as we have SPRING, SUMMER, WINTER & FALL—SEASONS CHANGE. Nothing in life ever stays the same. Things will ALWAYS & EVENTUALLY work out as they should when you persevere. We were CREATED to WIN and OVERCOME.
We’ve been impressed with Graceful Therapy LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We have recently OPENED our very first on-site Medical Practice in Houston, near the Katy. We are Proud to say that offer in-office massage services in our clinic which includes: Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage including Assited-Strech Sessions, Prenatal Massage, Hot Stone Sessions w/Essential Oils, Body Wraps, Body Scrubs, Foot Scrubs wrapped in Hot Towels, Cupping & relaxing Scalp Massage, just to name a few. We ALSO offer in-home single, couples massages option(s) to your very own personal Chef in the COMFORT of your own home: We also participate in Girls Night Out Events, Church Events, Women Retreats, Chair Massage at Work to Promote Health & Wellness on the job. We participate in most Community Events such as Walks, Triathlons & Marathons, We’ve recently partnered with a well-known Ayurvedic Wellness Center that offers Traditional Medicine native to India using a wide range of Holistic Treatments including Panchakarma, Yoga, Detox Programs, & Retreats along with a variety of Memberships to get you started on a healthy journey. They currently have 8 Centers throughout United States, Canada & India.
