Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazz Jones
Hi Jazz, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was raised in a swim family in Los Angeles, where beach day was every day so my love for water was sparked very early. In high school I learned how to be a proficient swimmer, started to swim competitively & lifeguard the community pools.
During my time lifeguarding I’d often give pointers and play with the kiddos in the water. Eventually parents began asking me if I could teach their kids to swim, and my swim school was created.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a joyful road!! I believe every road to success is bumpy but I’ve enjoyed the ride.
Our biggest challenge was the pandemic, we had to stop services completely. The inability to bounce back from Covid in Los Angeles is what fueled our move to Houston, TX. Houston has brought us great community and support, we were able to pick right back up to a full roster once we opened up here.
As you know, we’re big fans of Just Swim With Jazz. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We’re a private at home swim school offering swimming lessons to all ages over 3 months. We specialize in beginning swimming but offer lessons for all levels. Students can learn all 4 strokes and diving, lessons are conducted in sets of 10 and there’s the option to attend either 30 or 60 minute sessions.
Beginners can learn to swim in just 10 lessons and that’s a guarantee for those 4 years and up! We’re proud to be able to offer swimming lessons to everyone no matter the age or learning ability. With experience working with autistic and speech delayed students, lessons are also available to students with learning disabilities. EVERYONE CAN SWIM!
Our lessons can be booked the same day or in advance. Sign up is simple and there’s no additional fees to add more students to the time you’ve booked to swim. Split a hour lesson between the family and turn everyone into mermaids!
What matters most to you? Why?
Peace is what matters to me the most. I chose this business because the water truly brings me peace. Every thing is silenced when you submerge and I enjoy being able to tap out of the world above water.
Swimming is so therapeutic and I truly love watching new students find the peace in the water.
